As of right now if you go to COD MW III page on Steam you can see 7 studios developed COD MW III.
can confirm ill be skipping this one. not sure i like the sound of a year and a half developed game, that was intended as an expansion, made by a terrible team of devs, and giving the name MW3 to nostalgia bait people
activision must think we're all stupid and to be fair the vast majority of this community is stupid and will buy and they're the ones that contribute to the downfall of this franchise
For the past few months, we learned these; back then SHG (Sledgehammer Games) wanted to make a modern era game but, Activision said no so we got Vanguard. Usually, we should've get Treyarch's COD this year but, Treyarch wanted extra time to work on and it approved. Later then, SHG said we're trying our best but we are concerned about the time we're given. Then Treyarch went to help, too. They (SHG) were also cooperative studio worked on original MW3 and now, they got a chance to create their own MWIII. They are so excited for this project which I want to believe this game might have potential. I also want them to succeed which will hurt IW's reputation more since it was their game. SHG could deliver a game we can enjoy but, it's a hard task to do it within the time given to them. At least, they're not close to communication unlike IW. Remember IW got feedback about red dots in minimap and they kinda said "ok but, we prefer this way".
Long story short, it's not confirmed but there are hints that shows some of the story will take a part in different areas of Verdansk (prison and stadium were seen in the teaser). So more likely they used a lot of assets from MW2019 and MWII to create MWIII. Hopefully, SHG could deliver a good game and our saint Treyarch, will save us next year.
I booted the game last night to test the performance vs COD MW2 and on technical level that game is flawless. Almost the same system requirements as COD MW 2 but I can play it on Ultra settings with no upscaling at 140 fps and it looks x2 times better than this one. Looking back the Vanguard didn't deserve all the hate. Maps were way better and we could play the damn game.
Activision never announced going to into a 2 year cycle. Influencers touted it to generate drama/views by saying something crazy, and immediately activision responded saying the news was fake and that 2023 would have a full release. Of course nobody saw that because they were looking at the random gamers on youtube spouting ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

As just one example. Sadly lots of news sites reported the false claims, and never updated to include activision's response.
Exactly. Technically, this game's sucks. I dunno if you played the game when it launched but, it was unplayable due to crashes. With every update, we go 1 step further and 4 steps back. Not long ago, with the launch of season 4, do you remember the pc performance? And they delivered a fix after 2 weeks, which wasn't enough. IW can't even code properly anymore.
One thing Vanguard did really god was the blitz mode, in my opinion. Up to 20 players in each team was really fun / good to be honest. And that shipment experience was something unique to Vanguard until they touch it :D This "blitz" mode is also a solution for most of the MWII maps since the maps are just so big, but there aren't enough players to fill it which feels like a short walking sim.
They were rumors about IW wanted to implement a new perk system which is based on vests, gloves, helmets etc. but they didn't have enough time. They say we'll see that system in MWIII. We also know movement is getting better which will also change the gameplay, too. SHG might not turn into "developer gods" in one night (good one mate) but remember, IW had it's time and this is what we got... Only thing SHG needs to do is create a COD we know, You don't need to invent the wheel again (referring to IW), it's already done. When the time comes, you can play open beta and experience it in first hands.
Exactly. SHG's COD games have always felt that way anyway. Besides COD, it's also very rare to find a good release nowadays.
Keep in mind, that those rumours also used screenshots of the new vests they added to warzone, and I think some people took that as them having actual images of the vests etc. in the next game.
The rumour was just a rumour, and that doesn't necessarily mean its wrong, but it could also literally just be someone making ♥♥♥♥ up. Until we know that it was actually planned and then dropped for whatever reason, I don't think its right to blame them.
Another thing is they might have actually tested it and had it done, but dropped it because of testing etc. not necessarily just something they couldn't finish.
its just a nostagia baiting Expansion pack for MW2
