WHY AM I THE ONLY ONE ASKING THIS QUESTION ABOUT MW3??
Call of Duty games are build on 3 year cycles between the 3 major studies. Infinity Ward, Treyarc, Sledgehammer. so when IW release MW2 we're supposed to get a treyarc game, then a sledgehammer game then back to IW allowing them 3 years to create their new game. so how is it we're getting an IW game less than a year later from the last one?

im no expert but i imagine its physically impossible to create a fully functioning, AAA call of duty experience in around 11 months. they can barely do it with their 3 years so how is this possible? either this cod is going to be the most underwhelming half assed broken cod we've ever seen or they just has so much content for MW2 that they didnt wanna give us they've packaged it all up and this game is going to be more of a MW2 expansion pack with campaign an MW2.1 so to speak.

please can someone enlighten me as to whats going on here because i cant find any information on it. and like the title state i seem to be the only one acknowledging it

they use the same engine and reuse a lot of assets, the groundwork for these games has been established a long time ago and they just adding to it

COD MW II was made by 11 studios in total. Most likely all helped Sledgehammer deliver MW III.

As of right now if you go to COD MW III page on Steam you can see 7 studios developed COD MW III.

ah okay. so its being made by sledgehammer games who literally released call of duty vangaurd less than 2 years ago, which was arguably the worst cod ever made. it was actually the first call of duty i never bought, i touched the beta and it was a joke. just an MW2019 WWII Reskin. cods are made on 3 year cycles and this call of duty was supposed to actually be an expansion since last year activision announced cods were going into 2 yearly releases. they last minute back peddled on that decision and this MW2 expansion is now being slapped together with less than a year and a half of development by a dev team who made the worst cod ever and being slapped with the name MW3 for nostalgia bait.

can confirm ill be skipping this one. not sure i like the sound of a year and a half developed game, that was intended as an expansion, made by a terrible team of devs, and giving the name MW3 to nostalgia bait people

activision must think we're all stupid and to be fair the vast majority of this community is stupid and will buy and they're the ones that contribute to the downfall of this franchise
Even Vanguard is better than what we have right now. Yes it was the worst COD ever made... until MWII. Infinity Ward gained so much respect with MW2019 and now, not just they ruined their respect, they also ruined the name "Modern Warfare".

For the past few months, we learned these; back then SHG (Sledgehammer Games) wanted to make a modern era game but, Activision said no so we got Vanguard. Usually, we should've get Treyarch's COD this year but, Treyarch wanted extra time to work on and it approved. Later then, SHG said we're trying our best but we are concerned about the time we're given. Then Treyarch went to help, too. They (SHG) were also cooperative studio worked on original MW3 and now, they got a chance to create their own MWIII. They are so excited for this project which I want to believe this game might have potential. I also want them to succeed which will hurt IW's reputation more since it was their game. SHG could deliver a game we can enjoy but, it's a hard task to do it within the time given to them. At least, they're not close to communication unlike IW. Remember IW got feedback about red dots in minimap and they kinda said "ok but, we prefer this way".

Long story short, it's not confirmed but there are hints that shows some of the story will take a part in different areas of Verdansk (prison and stadium were seen in the teaser). So more likely they used a lot of assets from MW2019 and MWII to create MWIII. Hopefully, SHG could deliver a good game and our saint Treyarch, will save us next year.

most of the games have multiple studios helping out, and the engine they use is made primarily for cod, which makes it easier to have the a lot of the stuff to work with, plus they do re use a assets, though you are correct in how they usually release their cod games, maybe they want to give treyarch more time to make a better black ops game since cold war wasnt as well received compared to mw2019 at least from what ive seen. personally i enjoyed mw2019 the most out of all the recent games, though i did enjoy cold wars story and the direction of it compared to a redo on the modern warfare storyline, and zombies was also made a tad simpler for newer players to get into, which did help some friends of mine get more into zombies then swap to the older games to check what they missed lol.

I booted the game last night to test the performance vs COD MW2 and on technical level that game is flawless. Almost the same system requirements as COD MW 2 but I can play it on Ultra settings with no upscaling at 140 fps and it looks x2 times better than this one. Looking back the Vanguard didn't deserve all the hate. Maps were way better and we could play the damn game.

Activision never announced going to into a 2 year cycle. Influencers touted it to generate drama/views by saying something crazy, and immediately activision responded saying the news was fake and that 2023 would have a full release. Of course nobody saw that because they were looking at the random gamers on youtube spouting ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

As just one example. Sadly lots of news sites reported the false claims, and never updated to include activision's response.

even if that is true, theres still 1 thing that is a fact this game is underdevelopped they literally skipped a year out of the 3 year dev cycle so unless over night sledgehammer turned into developer gods this game is going to be left over MW2 content stitched together to make a "game" if you didnt like MW2 then dont expect to like MW3 theyve had a year and half to develop it. so its most likely just going to be an MW2 large scale map pack. gameplay and mechanics will be identical, probably some performance increases/optimisation thats about it.

Exactly. Technically, this game's sucks. I dunno if you played the game when it launched but, it was unplayable due to crashes. With every update, we go 1 step further and 4 steps back. Not long ago, with the launch of season 4, do you remember the pc performance? And they delivered a fix after 2 weeks, which wasn't enough. IW can't even code properly anymore.

One thing Vanguard did really god was the blitz mode, in my opinion. Up to 20 players in each team was really fun / good to be honest. And that shipment experience was something unique to Vanguard until they touch it :D This "blitz" mode is also a solution for most of the MWII maps since the maps are just so big, but there aren't enough players to fill it which feels like a short walking sim.

They were rumors about IW wanted to implement a new perk system which is based on vests, gloves, helmets etc. but they didn't have enough time. They say we'll see that system in MWIII. We also know movement is getting better which will also change the gameplay, too. SHG might not turn into "developer gods" in one night (good one mate) but remember, IW had it's time and this is what we got... Only thing SHG needs to do is create a COD we know, You don't need to invent the wheel again (referring to IW), it's already done. When the time comes, you can play open beta and experience it in first hands.

MWIII is a filler game to make way for Treyarch's 2024 COD. Pretty simple to see that. They're just charging $70 because they know their userbase is that guillible.

Exactly. SHG's COD games have always felt that way anyway. Besides COD, it's also very rare to find a good release nowadays.

Keep in mind, that those rumours also used screenshots of the new vests they added to warzone, and I think some people took that as them having actual images of the vests etc. in the next game.

The rumour was just a rumour, and that doesn't necessarily mean its wrong, but it could also literally just be someone making ♥♥♥♥ up. Until we know that it was actually planned and then dropped for whatever reason, I don't think its right to blame them.

Another thing is they might have actually tested it and had it done, but dropped it because of testing etc. not necessarily just something they couldn't finish.
brettapuss 21/ago./2023 às 10:57
i wasnt wrong haha. they literally said in the dev post on steam nearly all the MW2 content is being shoe horned into the new cod to make it seem like theres more content. all guns and attachments are being carried over. nearly all the dev time has been shrunk down in terms of map designs since all the maps exist so they dont need to do much work there. this game isnt a new game its an expansion pack. if youre existing guns work in a new game then youre clearly just using the previous game still. all the attachments and weapons are being copied and pasted over and work with MW3 weapons and attachments.

its just a nostagia baiting Expansion pack for MW2
