your gpu is getting outdated, speaking of which no prebuilt that comes from PC manufactures or even third party built ones gives you gtx 1080 nowadays. i assume you got the gpu long ago which is the reason; degradation

actually just built this pc in 2021, had to pay like 400 bux for the gpu lol but that was the scalpers market at that time... everybody keeps telling me its outdated but i can play ANY and ALL other games at 100fps plus no issues. I dont understand why cod is the ONLY game that stutters like that

Did you overclock/undervolt your GPU using software?

1080 is still ok will run most games in med-high settings, only thing it doesn't have is RTX, sure if he upgrades gpu he would have a better time but its nothing to do with his stuttering or Lag, most people with decent pcs have the same issues.

he could try doing a full graphics driver uninstall using ddu and reinstall the graphics driver from scratch
update motherboard bios to latest one
make sure ALL motherboard drivers are up to date

if that doesn't fix the issues try a windows refresh/install

ive had similar issues with cold war and bios update and motherboard updates fixed the issues

try bios update and motherboard driver updates,

try uninstalling graphics driver with DDU and re installing the graphics driver

if they don't work then try windows refresh or full install of windows

Its the game. I have a GTX 1080 and 7700k. This is the only game that refuses to run property. Non stop directx crashes. A 1080 is basically a rtx 3060... not old or slow

there is a setting called ECO MODE (it's on the vertical sync part) or something like that, I think it reduces the use of gpu therefore the fps drop when you are in the menu, I also have problems with mw2 after 7 hours of playing the pc starts to have problems, ryzen 7 + rtx 3070, today I had that problem so I went to the game options and reinstalled the shaders and it went back to normal, maybe after many hours of playing the shaders start to fail mmm I don't know, temperature problems it's not because the gpu is at 60 to the maximum

If you haven't played for a long time, the first thing you should do is update the GPU driver, use ddu to uninstall and install the new

finally found the fix. Installed this and no more directx crashes for me. (also turning off overlays)

Edit: never-mind still crashing... although a little less..... TRASH
