How to solve "Failed to start game process" errors, etc.
After about nine hours of troubleshooting, research, and rage, I finally managed to get Call Of Duty opening. This bug was completely undocumented with no ways to solve it that fit my exact situation.

If your game refuses to launch, turning blue then going black to green, check the bootstrapper.log file in your directory. This file contains "helpful" information as to what is going on. In my case, it was "Failed to start game process (5)", followed by the location of my cod.exe and followed by a certain string - "cod.exe hdeyguxs3zaumvlgvybm2vyc" This string, which seemed meaningless at first actually was VITAL to the launching of COD HQ. In fact, it is so significant to your game that it is the single thing that allows it to launch.

I want to ensure you all that if your game downloaded for the first time, IT WAS DOWNLOADED ENTIRELY. There is no need to verify your files, mess with compatibility or windows settings, or reinstall your game. If you have this situation, all of this is redundant.
What is NOT in fact redundant is that string from earlier.

To solve this problem ENTIRELY, create a shortcut to your cod.exe. At the end of this shortcut's target section, add in quotes "cod.exe hdeyguxs3zaumvlgvybm2vyc" . This will allow you to bypass the launcher and bootstrapper entirely, letting you open the game with no hiccups regarding the exes to launch.
Hope this helps anyone suffering from the same issue.

hello thank you for the tip. Trying to replicate. Can you provide an example of the path for the shortcut please? Trying to follow the directions and I keep getting an error that the target path is not a valid path. Thanks. @Jinping Xi

This is in the target box: "C:\Users\WindowsXPerience\Desktop\farce of iron\Call of Duty_2\Content\cod.exe" "cod.exe hdeyguxs3zaumvlgvybm2vyc" Replace the path with your respective path.

Haha, I looked in your thread myself while trying to figure this out. I've never seen a modern triple-a game with more problems than modern COD. The original Deus Ex runs better than this out of the box. Appreciate what you're doing for the community, you should be getting paid for this lol

I don't even like CoD all that much, last one I liked was MW2019 campaign and Cold War campaign

Yeah, only reason I'm playing is because Game Pass gets access to BO6 beta. Not sure if the trouble was worth it 😂

None of this worked, I got a high end pc with the newest parts but my game refuses to launch and when it does it tells me my system doesn't meet the graphics requirements which is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I played the new Ark game on its highest settings a couple of days ago. Crazy that they still follow the trend of releasing a broken game.
