So prepurchasing Black Ops 6 on Steam right now doesn't give me a beta code?

You don't get a beta code for steam, Microsoft store or battle net playable as soon as it starts.

The beta's already started on PC (Aug 30 10am PT) but I don't have a code or other access to the beta

Oh never mind I think I have to install that 200GB COD HQ to play. That's not happening with the space I have.

you dont have to install 200gb. When I preordered, it added "Call of Duty Black Ops 6" to my steam library which then downloaded I think 80 something GBs. Once that was finished, it removed that from the library and installed 'Call of Duty' (cod hq) for only 2gb I think. The beta is launched completely from there.

You would unfortunately have to install that when the full game drops anyway since whoever at whichever company thought it was a good idea to merge multiple COD titles together.

Ok I found where the beta is. It's under DLC for Call of Duty instead of its own game. I deselected all other DLC so I only have to download 62GB. I cancelled my refund request. Thanks guys.

I skipped MW3 so I'm not up to date on how COD gets installed these days.

I am so confused. How do you get access to the beta if you've already pre-ordered the game? BO6 is in my steam library, I already pre-ordered it. Cod HQ is there too. I don't see a separate "beta" in the DLC page.

Launch cod hq then click black ops 6 beta

You don't have to download all of CoD HQ.

Right click call of duty in your library > properties > go to DLC tab > uncheck everything that's not black ops 6 related

It's "Call Of Duty" in your library. If you don't want MWII, MWIII, or Warzone downloaded and only want the beta + CoD HQ you'll have to disable all the MWII and III dlc by right click call of duty in your library > properties > go to DLC tab > uncheck everything that's not black ops 6 related
