CoD MW 2 continued the story, but I didn't like some of it's missions, like the one you should drive the car in the highway, the survival one with Soap after getting shot from Graves, and the Ghost Team, which was the beginning of Warzone style in the campaign.
CoD MW 3 was a disaster and doesn't need explantation, but the story quality becomes much worse compared to the original MW. A huge story bug that caught my attention is that in the beginning of MW 2022, Ghost didn't know Soap and never met him before until Shepheard introduced him, but in MW 3 2023 we see a flashback from 2019 that they were in the same squad.

BTW, I've played the beta on Battlenet, and the diving system is very unnecessary for this game in first-person shooter; only it makes the PVP worse because people are obsessed with nonesnes dives that makes the PVP uglier. I've said before that they need to remove tactical sprints for campaigns and PVP too.
I've watched the campaign trailer in the gamescom; it's still the Warzone style, like you have access to killstreak items and kill an armor giant before going to Elevator with adler. You can still make open-area missions with killstreak items without using warzone elements. Look at these OG MW missions that used to be open area missions using scorestreaks, but they were amazing and didn't ruin the campaign:

Tryearch was known for its good quality of fair and three-lane maps and best multiplayer, but I think it's lost its score. You want to return CoD to its glorious days??
For PVP, remove tactical sprint and current diving system. For campaign, remove warzone elements such as scorestreak items, giant armor, or open areas. Also, just like old times, remove third-person cutscenes and make a silent character with only first-person view cutscenes, because in first-person games, a silent protagonist will make sympathy for the players. This will be a huge step to making great stories again. It was very nasty when in MW 3 2023 you controlled every other character in the campaign like Captain Price, Laswell, or Ghost in some missions.
The franchise is all over the place - it's always a step forward and then two back in many respects. This is Cold War on crack with no combat logic. I still think I could have fun with this for a couple of weeks but I don't think it'll be worth the money.
I remember when I bought it, wow, it was a fresh air - everything was cool there!
Same here. Absolutely agree with every single word.
I also skipped MW3 and had high hopes for BO6, but...I regretted it.
I hope more and more people join you and stop providing income to a company who's CEO I wouldn't urinate on if they were on fire.
COD is trash and it will never change as long as people keep getting conned into the next dumpster fire.
COD used to be cool, but then they stopped caring about what gamers wanted and only about filling their pockets with money.
The campus in Irvine was cool until Activision rolled in and ruined everything.
True say most game companies just want to fill their pockets rather than attempt to bring out decent games to be proud of like back in the day.
And sadly it's not mostly the devs fault it's the higher ups.
