BO6 not launching from Steam

I realize that others are having similar issues but I wanted to put my 2 cents here.

I've spent the last hour troubleshooting this and trying to get the game to launch. I've

-Verified the integrity of the game files
-Ran the .exe file as administrator
-Uninstalled and reinstalled MP Pack 1
-Ran the bootstrapper.exe from the local files from the cod folder
-Completely uninstalled and reinstalled the game

Nothing works. Just seems silly that I have to spend an hour trying to get the game to launch, and when and if it decides to finally launch, I either get prompted with "update requires restart" or "patch files may be corrupted. you need to restart" just to start the whole process over again.

I would really like at least some acknowledgement that this is an issue and they are working on a fix for it. I think the game itself is pretty great, but at this point I feel like I wasted $70 on software that doesn't run

*sigh* hopefully they do a hot-fix update soon that will address all the launching issues

wellp its been 3 days since release now with no word yet. seems more stable on {LINK REMOVED}battle.net i think. but dont feel like bying the game agen u know

I am going to refund this and wait a month to see if they fix it. The $80 can be used elsewhere on discounted games.

any potential fixes yet??? most days it only happens a few times then finally loads...but today ita crashed like 12 time and I got the corrupt patch files twice idk what's going on

so did anyone find a fix? Just bought the game yesterday and have had all of the same issues listed above. I have also tried the same fixes listed. Would like to play but can't get the game to start!

I found that running Steam as administrator and then pressing play on COD fixed the issue for me. Your mileage may vary though since it seems like multiple things are causing this issue. Give it a try tho!

This was the fix for COD not launching for me as well.

I had to create a task in Task Scheduler to run Steam on user login to get Steam to run on startup so that is one minor potential annoyance with doing this to keep in mind.

Just delete the cod exe and the bootstrap exe and verify the files it will fix it

Been doing this for months for me after the beta of this game. They patch mw3 after the beta. No error. Now the last week I been getting game_ship.exe crash. All other games work fine. Idk maybe it's a GPU error because I start and the screen flashes then crash. I reinstall Nvidia like 100 times so idk. Worst call of duty and they won't even let you know if they are looking into this. They care about the people that can play right now that's all.
