why do nobody test their games anymore before releasing them. Star Wars outlaws has not worked for almost a month now.

For me the problem was stuff that i had in my autostart. Now my game works. if you press "Windows + R" and enter "msconfig", then you can disable autostart stuff in the new window. Go to the services tab and click the checkbox that you only want to see the non microsoft things .
So this is what i disabled (removed the checkmark) to make my game start:
- everything google related

- the steam service (somehow this blocked my game from starting. Steam will shows an error message but still opens)

- pnkbstra (anticheat from battlefield)

Then click apply and restart your pc. If this is not working (and maybe you have different stuff listed there, then disable all and see if it works then after a restart.

I was having the same issue, I tried a lot of suggestions for a lot of hours until I uninstalled an application reWASD, and that fixed it for me. I guess, many different applications will conflict with the game's anti-cheat system and the problem is that the game can crash even if you don't have these applications running. That was my case. reWASD was not even running and I was not using it for a while, but the fact that it was installed on my PC caused the game to crash right after start.

Found a fix. If you were like me, the game was too big when you downloaded the update and had to switch installation locations. If not, the game may still be trying to boot from the wrong folder. Go here (drive)/Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Call of Duty HQ and click on the Bootstrapper text file. Open the text file and see what drive COD HQ is trying to boot from. I had moved mine to my E: drive but steam was still trying to grab the file from my C: drive where I had it before. You'll have to move your game files to the place Steam is trying to get it from. For me, I had to go into steam and move game files back to the C: drive after deleting some stuff to make room. Hope this helps!
