Aye, this is one of those settings that seems to be problematic.
I use 70 for the VRAM setting on a RTX 4090.
The game starts using 1% which creeps up to 15% in the multiplayer lobby then sits around 30% after a match.
You can see VRam usage and other stats by enabling the overlay
Interface -> Global -> Telemetry. Set it to "all on" for a strip across the top of the screen that shows Vram, CPU, GPU, Latency etc.
This may help you identify when the game crashes if you can read it quickly enough.
The only solution is to set a maximum in-game for VRAM usage. You can do this in the COD graphics quality settings. Adjust the VRAM scaling target so that the game does not use more than your available VRAM. As each has its own a different GPU with a different amount of VRAM and different graphics settings, the value will be different for many people. For me, with an AMD 6900XT with 16GB of VRAM, playing at 3440x1440 with most settings high, 65 was the right setting.
Here's a tip for trying to find your stable setting. In your graphics card software (mine is AMD Adrenaline), find the option that will show GPU memory usage in-game as an overlay. For Adrenaline, it's the Performance tab, after the Metrics section. Enable GPU memory tracking. All other metrics you can disable. They're not important. In the Overlay tab, make sure Enable Metrics Overlay is set to enabled. Start COD and set VRAM Scaling to 50. While playing, you can see how much VRAM is being used. -Be sure to test on a map, make sure COD is large. Since you set a maximum, the VRAM usage will stabilize. Now you have 2 scenarios. The game may still crash. If this happens, your graphics settings are too high for your GPU's available VRAM. This means you need to set your texture resolution to a lower setting. If the game runs smoothly, take a look at your available VRAM. If you have extra GB, you can set your VRAM scaling target a bit higher and test the gain. Make sure you have at least 2 GB left over to compensate for other programs and perhaps future maps that are larger (Warzone Battle Royale maps).
The reason you want your VRAM scaling set as high as possible is because it increased your FPS considerably. My FPS dropped by about 25 FPS when I lowered my VRAM scaling target. I compensated by using FSR3 upscaling. For NVIDIA, you can use DLSS.
They managed to fix the excessive VRAM usage issue with a future update, but I had this issue in MW2, MW3, and now BO6. So don't hold your breath. I hope this helps some people so they can play again without this annoying issue. Let me know how it goes!
Still had the Crashes today 3x times
Addressed various issues that resulted in infrequent game crashes.
Addressed a memory error that was forcing players to restart their game.
Addressed visual fidelity issues with water effects.
Addressed an issue causing the High Contrast setting to be on by default.
Addressed an issue where players would be mistakenly shown an out-of-bounds warning while navigating a mission.
Addressed an issue that would prevent players from completing a mission due to the untimely passing of Gladney.

First of all, you need to install a "clean" version of the driver for your video card (that is, do not rush to install the same GeForce Experience, nothing extra from AMD and audio).
If you have a second monitor, try to disable it, and also disable G-Sync and any other types of additional/auxiliary devices.
Use the System File Checker to restore damaged or missing system files.
If you are using an Nvidia graphics card, then try enabling "Debug Mode" in the graphics card control panel.
Often the cause of the error is an overheated graphics card, so we recommend using the FurMark program to check its functionality. If this is indeed the case, then you should lower the frequency of the graphics card.
If you suddenly encounter other errors, then we recommend reinstalling DirectX, but before that it is better to delete the old version just in case (be sure to delete all files in the folder before reinstalling, starting with "d3dx9_24.dll" and ending with "d3dx9_43.dll").
Well I tried playing today, zombies works a bit better but pvp still crashing for me on the small map nuketown. Seems to crash less on high settings than low/off its retarded. Playing around with the Vram does nothing & I've already reinstalled my windows/drivers so idk what else to do but wait for more fixes.
This is the YouTube video I used to adjust these settings: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUokFhHUZoA.
