General post for the launch issue of COD
Can we just centralize the posts and users having issue launching the game / launching COD HQ in a single post? We all hate going through 20 posts about the same thing and with none of them holding a fix --

That said, I myself encounter this issue.

What I've done so far is pretty much everything recommended and suggested :
- Verify files
- Uninstall (and instal I guess lol)
- Updating nvidia driver
- Updating to the latest windows update
- Looking in the "bootstrapper.log" file for crash errors (no errors mentionned, only "sucessfully launched COD"
- Modifying a file in "Documents/Call Of Duty / players" named "options.4.cod.cst"
- Just added Looked for Steam Client update (was already up to date for me)

I'll update the title of this post if/when we find a solution that works for multiple user to launch the game.

Hoping we can gather every possible workaround suggested/that worked for other users here ! :summerparrot2023:

I'm hoping it does work when it actually releases . but that's such a weird behavior to be enable to launch the game, which is supposed to be just a hub that redirects you to the other games. It should be working, bo6 being owned or not..

I cant tell what files need to be downloaded. Do i need to download Mw3 multiplayer? There is no black ops 6 multiplayer option

If you do right click on your COD game you can go in "properties" and you can check the "DLC"'s. There's the multiplayer pack 1 for BO6 in there (as well as all the other pack you need for BO6 I'm assuming)

(edit, changed "manage" for "properties". I misstyped lol)

I am having the same issue I have every DLC installed and all my drivers are up to date. All i get is a preview screen and than my PC starts to freeze randomly and the game ends up never loading and staying stuck on this loading screen. Very confused because I think when the game launches it will still be stuck since its bascially a DLC to the original platform.

I've never downloaded cod through steam, it's my first time this year. But I don't think BO6 will stay as a "COD HQ" DLC, since it's has it's own page on steam. I think it's just the way they do it so that it's harder to datamine stuff until the last possible second

by not "launching" do you mean crashing the ship game steam exe error ?!

If you're asking about my own situation, it's basically pressing play on steam, waiting for the cod hq to run, seeing it pop in my taskbar in the bottom, barely see it pop in the middle of my screen (for something between .25 sec to 1.5 sec) then it just stops as if it has never been launched. No error codes, no clues about a potential issue, nothing ahah

Ya i think u need to have warzone installed or something for "call of duty" to even launch...i wont find out anytime soon because my pc downloads super ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ slow :/ pre-loading out the window i guess

Also here's what I did:
-Re launched steam as admin
-there's a slight kinda fix... if you have two monitors. just unplug one of them instead of showing " loading invetory" now it'll actually bypass that and it shows "loading message of the day" and then it crashes... so maybe the issue is with our HDMI?
-I deleted the whole config/documents
-Re launched cod in safe mode
-Someone says.. move the game to another drive <tbh i CBA lol>
-Also i thought i was banned even though im playing legit, checked my status in activiation website and im not banned..

In my own situation, my wifi is pretty quick, so in the last 2 hours I could uninstall, verify my files, install warzone (both warzone). Try and launch just with warzone installed. Try to launch with only bo6 installed. With both installed. It all ended up the same way, simply crashing with no error code or whatsoever in the 5-10 sec following the press of the button "play"

I have more than.. one.. monitor.. a bit more LOL
But it's a pain to unplug and even more to plug it back in so I'd rather not do it //
And since my game doesn't even "reach" the loading inventory / loading message of the day UI, I'm guessing my issue is prior to the game checking it has everything to run smoothly..

When you say "launched COD in safe mode", you mean the pressing "yes" on the popup that appears when your game crashes and that tells you that it's gonna put all your settings back to default? If it's what you're talking about, I've done it as well. Multiple times :(.

Can't really move the game to another drive either, running on a single 2TB. I knew I should have bought 1TB + 1TB LOL

Hey, it's cool! Well, I wish it worked, but you know that. But I appreciate you trying, even if you aren't a tech guy yourself. Any clues can lead to a fix, I can't believe there's actually nothing to do ahah
