BO6 - Message of the day black screen, can't get into the menu

Launch the game, menu show's briefly and then what seems to be the message of the day overlay comes up and is blank. The arrow does nothing. No way out of it and need to restart.

One work around I had was, If I was quick enough to click through multiplayer and search for a match before it loaded, the black screen would come up, but then disappear once the match started.

As of today, the message is loading more quickly than before so there is no time to get through the 4000 clicks in the menu to load a game.

I've verified files - no fix
Currently trying a re-install.

It's a known bug on their Trello. Restating the game each time is the only workaround they offer right now.

Thanks, but the restart does nothing. And that global issue is different to what I am describing. That talks to a black screen loading into multiplayer or zombies. This appears before you can load into anything.

Only thing you can do with the black screen and keep restarting the game until its not black. Once the black screen comes up, it will keep coming up until you get a restart that will go into a game without it.

If your on PC go to "My documents" and delete the "call of duty" folder this works

This worked for me, just had to redownload shaders after I got in

Can't get past it either. Verified files, restarted Steam/PC multiple times. Also I can't even backup my files because it gives me an error saying "needs update" even though literally everything is updated. Guess it's looking like an uninstall/re-install is probably the only possible fix.... WTF
