a problem about frame rate
the usual frame rate is about 200 fps, but when a mortar strike happens, the frame rate will drop to 90~110 fps, which causes obvious lag, even if i set the configuration of the game to low and turn on DLSS. i use i5 13600kf + rtx4070super and 1080p resolution, so i don't think it's a problem with my hardware. Is this an issue of game optimization? how to solve this problem?

I am also having an issue with dropping half my frames. Anytime I bring up the pause menu/map in game, my frames go from 300 to 150-160 and causes my game to lag. Was on Reddit for hours last night and couldn't find a solution. Only thing I could find was people saying to turn off the pathtracing feature, but mine is already off and its still happening. Didn't happen before the update, so I'm not sure what changed to cause this to happen now.

cod don't need to run highter than 60 fps
at 1080p , dlss its useless on your congif , its make your cpu take over gpu task for the engine , just cap 60 fps , mix max/min setting graphics and you'll get a more smooth gameplay with a steady 60 fps :)

running the game on a laptop rtx 4080 , all ultra , at 1600p without dlss , all fines , no lag or drop fps in game .

i think it's an issue of optimization, the problem didn't show up in DMZ, only in cod20. thanks for your replies.

120fps means that you get a new image every 0.008 seconds. Ideally, the human eye can perceive 30-60 images. 90-120 fps is certainly no "lag".

sorry but the human eye

they changed it recently so you can't turn texture streaming off, just min, male sure its on min that might help

Frame variation (I.E 200 - 120 unpredictably) appears as lag to the human eye. A better suggestion is telling him to lower his graphics/settings to get a more stable frame rate.

i use motion blur sometimes, in MP FPS games you only really focus on the target so everything else is a blur anyway, and anything above 75fps looks very similar

now i have to set screen refresh rate to 60Hz from 144Hz. I don't understand why Activison canceled the mode of turning off texture streaming.

you can create custom resolutions including refresh rate in GPU Control Panel

It is your hardware. That CPU... COD has too many items to render as is. Run your PC through 3DMARK to see the same outcome.
