The challenge just states "Get 40 Operator Kills with the Marksman Rifle Conversion Aftermarket Part equipped".

Is this referring to last week's Aftermarket Part for the Longbow or something else?

Yea. There is no conversion kit for KVD.

I tried conversion kits for both Dm56 and mcw68 and neither counted kills

You have to use the TYR Handgun (the cowboy style one) with the Aftermarket Gun Kit. Then it counts with the equipet perks

I spent hours leveling up the DM56 to 23 (because I had no maxed marksman rifles; the reasoning of which I'm sure everyone here can guess) just to have the challenge...not work.

So does it at least turn the TYR into a marksman rifle, or is this just more "Sledgehammer Games gonna Sledgehammer Games" crap, so we have to make do with what actually works?

putting "JAK Beholder Rifle Kit" on the TYR handgun and have NO other attachments on the TYR was suggested on reddit and that is working for me ... you of course need to equip the stalker boots and the Threat Identification System gear as well.
I dont feel it becomes a marksman rifle, but it definitely improves on the TYR

I have done 7 challenges on zombies one on multiplayer , yet it still says 7 out of 8 challenges. Yet there is only 7 for each version. Is this another bug.

There is a very subtle horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of the Cyptid Bootcamp tab. Move that over to the right, or use the arrow keys, to reveal the 8th challenge.
