If you buy a Samsung TV at Target....can you get a free Samsung TV from Best Buy?? OK got the smart comment out of the way haha. Only time I remember companies doing free transfers was PS3 to PS4 and 360 to xbox 1 if you stayed in the console family.

Agree, but here’s the huge difference. Current games are nothing more than digital content that we pay a license to use.

What would Steam or Battlenet gain from you purchasing your COD code elsewhere then just activating on there platform? Thatd be like buying fast food from Wendys and taking it to eat at Mcdonalds. Then using their wifi, bathroom, garabage, etc

Or if they weren’t so greedy, it could be the equivalent of having your Chevy serviced at a different Chevy Dealership because you moved or were out of town.

Very very few game devs offer cross platform purchases and the few that do have to manually give you a product key for the Steam version. I've only heard of about 5 games in the past decade that offered this, mainly for their games purchased through their own site/launcher.

And the Steam version doesn't have keys anyways.

If COD had its own launcher then yes multiple platforms makes sense. But again, they dont. Everyone wants a cut for having you launch through them. Does it really surprise you that a game thats 70 dollars, 10 dollar battlepasses x 4 seasons, 20 dollar skins... also wants to you to pay for the different copies?

Absolutely correct. If you buy a game for X amount of dollars you are purchasing an open ended rental from Blockbuster with no return date. You do not own anything. No stocks, no shares, no rights to any of the product besides the ability to play it until they decide to pull the plug on it. Im not fighting you. I think it should be linked to an email or something.
