What is going on with all the Furry content and forced diversity in the game?

I haven't played COD in years, I thought about giving it a go again and looked at this game to see where the series went. I couldn't be more appalled seeing all the furry costumes in game. Do people actually like this? I find this to be a strange pivot for the series.

It's just stupid silly fun Skins for the people who play almost everyday and they want something new to look at. Are they overpriced? Hell yes they are. But what the hell isn't?

And whether you get into them or not doesn't make you a better or worse player.

I don't mind them. Sometimes they are kinda funny.
