DirectX Error Help?

I've been experiencing this DirectX error crash since the beginning of season 2. Specific Error code: 0x887A0005 (0x887A0006) (6068) D

I generally can't go long playing any modes other than pubs before my game crashes. It always seems to happen during a match of any kind, typically ranked, with the timing of it seemingly being sporadic.
I've already gone the whole nine yards in regards to potential fixes, from Un-installing to Re-installing the game, verifying the games files, to updating windows etc. I highly doubt it is a hardware issue has I can confidently say that I have top tier specs, and I didn't have this issue with last years cod with the same specs, though on the same note I would still be open to hardware suggestions non the less even though I think otherwise.
All in all I want to use this discussion to create a thread of potential helpful fixes of any kind to not only help me but potentially any other victims of this issue, as it seems like there are not many solutions to this Crash Error other than the linear and seemingly scarce solutions that are available online

Specs if they do happen to matter:
Gpu: AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT
Cpu: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X 6-Core Processor
Ram: Two 16Gb=32GB total. DDR 5 Speed: 5600 MHz

Edit/Update: I really appreciate everyone commenting on this issues with all sorts of potential fix's, fantastic for the community. As far as i'm concerned I have found a fix with Last Round's idea of going back in driver version and have had no issues since, though when the next set of updates for drivers come around I am going to have to eventually go with them and hope that it's fixed alongside said update. If the issue persists on the new driver versions, then I will go ahead and try the solutions mentioned already that I've yet to try. Thanks to everyone who has commented on this issue!

I had the same problem. I have a 6900xt. Nothing worked till i Idelete the 24.1.1 adrenalin driver (with DDU in windows safe mode) and installed the 23.12.1 version. No crashes since then.

Same problem with 6800XT, it's about AMD Graphics Cards, never seen this issue at Nvidia users. Btw it's happening to me since 2022 MW2.

this is the correct answer. 24.1.1 driver is infested with issues, just rollback to 23.12.1

Do you try different drivers? I did the same yesterday because I read your comment. But i made a mistake and Installed the Version 23.11.1 . I could play for 9 hours, but the bug came back after that. And now it is again every 2-4 matches. I will deinstall it again and Install your recommendet version.

6950XT, 5700X, B550 Gaming V2, Fury Beast 16GB
Windows 10, XMP Profil not active, and I try everything that I read online, your reccomendation was the only that worked.

20 minutes later. I Installed the Version 23.12.1 after some Gaming Sessions (will take some days) i come back to this thread and tell you if it is a longtime fix.

The Bug is Back chrashed in the second game today
Im done i wait for a Fix, thats the first time in my life a programm/game behaves like that. Thank god i did not pay for that.

Thanks to you this seems worked for me too, at least for now. I'll inform here one week later.

I got recently RX 7600XT 16GB and also cant play Warzone, game load whole vram and just crash instant. Tried different drivers and settings nothing helps. Had RTX2060 and didnt have single problem .

Update: I tried Last Round's solution and it has thankfully worked for me, Downgrading to previous drivers could be a potential fix for others if you haven't tried this method out yet

I had the same issue and for ages I couldn't find a fix, tried everything. I found a fix, download MSI afterburner and lower the core clock speed on your GPU. Very simple to do and has 100% fixed the direct x crashes I was getting. You might need to experiment with what speed works best. I lower mine to 2600 mhz for when I play warzone.


I am not convinced it is a driver issue, it seems to be an issue for AMD PCs , especially newer and high spec PCs .

This one seems to work for me. I set the max mhz lower and lower. I recognised that the chrashes dont appear that often. Down to 2400 maximum was the sweetspot for me.

clean disk and delete the directx shader cache, delete the cache on adrenaline, restart the loading of shaders on mw3, if it doesn't work try playing in energy saving mode.

im on amd 7900xtx I solved it definitively by eliminating the directx shader cache in diskclean

this is def a amd thing but the best thing i found is to exit any background programs that u may have be running. any overlay to like Operagx, steam , msi afterburner etc etc i also capped my framerate to 165 with my quality on basic works best for me with no crashes
