lol take even a second to think of why they all fall under the "game" COD HQ, maybe if you use that one brain cell you might be able to figure out the answer for yourself. might also understand how it REALLY changes nothing from the old model other than all games are launched from a single app now, but with the benefit that they can carry forward ANYTHING the devs want to keep in the new games. this is how its going to be going forward atleast for a few more games id bet, then they will make a new "HQ" app for another run.

as far as "being dlc"
dont get why people WANT to go back to paying $20 for like 4-5 maps at most, almost never getting new weapons, never getting new attachments, no new skins, no new modes.
THATS how it was back in the day before things became "live service"

tell me how getting a majority of that stuff for FREE and paying for literally only cosmetics is worse than that old model.

it is a full game, it's just not a separate game from cod HQ

Tbf idrc abt the skins i just like the campaign and traditional multiplayer, couldnt give a f about skins, but since mw2 decided to reunite everything under cod hq its a complete mess of menus, mw2 was the last dlc that i got not knowinh itll become a dlc

then the only legit thing you have to ♥♥♥♥♥ about is having to launch HQ first, and you can make a shortcut for cod hq so its LITERALLY the same number of clicks as starting it from ANY of it respective launchers. and if the hq app is hard for you to navigate i hope you dont own a smart phone as even the home screen for those are far more complicated than the HQ app.

all first world problems. "WhY Is mY gAMe CalLeD DlC?1!!"

1. It makes refunds harder to get.
2. Old DLC was $15, no $20. If you got the SP it was $12.50 per 4+1 maps.
3. While DLC is "free" (it's really not) now, it's also way lower quality. CoD gets less maps and the maps are also worse quality. A perfect example of this is CW where we've only ever gotten 4 classic maps in total, 3 being DLC.
It doesn't take a genius to understand why the update content is free now and why the stuff we are getting is low quality. But to spell it out, it's because A. the money maker's all the MTX crap nowadays and B. it doesn't require the maps and modes added to be of actual quality, they could add any awful map and people would continue to buy the $20 outfit bundles. Do you think they'd sell map packs if the maps were bad? No, they wouldn't. But like this they can release bad maps (and less of them) and get away with it.
The old monetization scheme was a lot better. CoD was ruined once Activision caught on to the fact they could just sell some polygons and textures at a high price.
Instead of a complete game (yes the older games were complete on launch) and some paid, high quality content (which was guaranteed and again, high quality) we're now getting lazy rehashes/bad quality maps and delayed "content drops" altogether.
On top of that some content's outright exclusive to certain platforms, like Nuketown inside Onslaught.
If it's "free" then you can't complain about gated content. You can't complain about it being delayed or bad.
Old CoD was amazing, while the new titles are $70 storefronts and nothing more.
People like to bring up games like XDefiant now as a true "classic CoD experience" or "where COD should've gone after BO4", but the reality is that it and all those other games also suck and will inevitably fall into the same trap as CoD did all those years ago.
These games have devolved into platforms for dress-up and nothing more. $70 storefronts that either sell gambling or overpriced cosmetics (sometimes both).
They need to bring back the classic CoD experience and remove all this unnecessary, downright awful fluff. Bring back a complete game on launch, quality DLCs, a true offline mode, the workshop/mod support and so on, and not this crap where you're expected to pay $70 for a virtual storefront.

What expansion pack cost $60? I lived through that time, even worked in Babbage's in college from until 2000. Don't remember an expansion pack that was $60, ever. Expansion packs were usually $20.

Because all their games are the same as the last one. You can't even call them a separate game anymore and even they know it.

after 10 years if there are 10 games added to HQ and you own 5 games of it the the big problem would be that you had to download all those new patches of 5 games you don't even owned

isnt it like bird and egg scenario? all their games are the same cuz they engineer them under the same title, and because they engineer them under the same title, they all need to play the same?

They release the same game every year. It's nothing but copy and paste with barely any upgrade to graphics or game play. This is why it takes them so quick to make a COD game. There's nothing new in their titles. Same boxed in maps with the same guns and crappy battle passes. Their whole HQ is so unintuitive and horribly unorganized. Their UI sucks. The game constantly has to restart every single time. Not to mention cramming it all into one place and their favouritism towards console players with legal aimbots. I'm good. I didn't buy MW3 and I won't be buying their overpriced BO6. 89.99 for the same game every year? No thanks.
