Will you be playing XDefiant?

Looks to be a good competitor to Call of Duty, doesn't have the same sort of inertia and movement and modern COD but at the same time, it gives me a classic 07' - 10' Call of Duty vibe.

Doesn't have SBMM or EOMM either apparently, with the former being reserved for a welcome playlist for new players and ranked.

Also, MNK only lobbies if you opt in for it / opt against cross-play, so no more dealing with quite possibly one of the worst implementations of aim-assist I've seen in any FPS to date. If I'm going to get clapped, I'd rather it be by people with legitimately good aim, not an AA doing the work for them whilst they slide cancel and bunny hop on a stim.

Not naive enough to say "CoD-Killer", nothing will kill the franchise really, but I'm hoping it'll be a return to the golden era / classic Call of Duty in terms of feel and that's all it needs to be for me.

We will see come tomorrow.

no its not a competitor. its competitor is valorant, rogue company etc. get your facts straight if you gonna post in another games discussion forums. it has no team deathmatch, capture the flag, smooth gameplay etc to compete with call of duty. no game has no game could without being a company

The most popular modes over the years when I played the most were TDM, Kill Confirmed, Headquarters and Domination, S&D as well. XDefiant seems to have at least two variants of those, one actually called Domination and Hotshot which is basically Kill Confirmed, which was always the better version of TDM anyway.

Then there's the progress modes, with Escort being similar to Overwatch with it's Push mode and ZC basically pulling from Battlefield's Rush mode.

I wasn't aware that a push for more objective based modes whilst retaining the feel of classic Call of Duty, lead by the person who was the Executive Producer for Infinity Ward during the franchise's golden era, made it a non-competitor?

Conquest has always been Battlefield's dominant mode, along with Rush. That's not a direct competitor to Call of Duty either I suppose.

What I've seen of XDefiant reminds me of Black Ops 4 tbh.

people will keep playing cod until an AAA that has the same intensity, the game modes and fast pace FPS exists with a better dev team that can support it. Activision knows that. No competition in market. Thats why they dont care about you. They just want your money because at the end you are still gonna buy things from them for the game.

I never said Call of Duty will fail or that XDefiant will be some sort of Killer, I just asked if anybody will be moving over to it for a bit as it does away with things that bring Warzone and current MW down.

It's a competitor to Warzone since they are both free

I'n thinking about downloading it and playing a little bit but I highly doubt we will notice a difference in the Matchmaking.

It's a competetive FPS and people are going to be playing fast. Just like COD.

Aye, but MW3 / Warzone's movement is flat out ridiculous. When PC players are dropping MNK for controllers to take advantage of the insanely fast movement in the game WHILST retaining the god-awful, broken level of aim-assist, there's an issue.

I'm looking forward to PC only lobbies, as said in the OP, I'm not worried about getting my cheeks clapped so long as it's by someone with a reasonable degree of movement, reflexes and good aim.

Hell no ,I love DMZ and MWII. Warzone and MWIII are pretty cool I guess. But if I wanted the OG COD experience , I'd just hop on the OG games.
