I don't agree with "Skins ruining the game" argument
Hello, I've been really trying to understand people who's arguing over "Bundles are ruining COD" idea. I don't know who started it, who's continuing it but I think its hugely a false claim.

The only Argument I can understand and agree on is that this game is forcing SBMM into casual gamemodes. Which sucks. But I'll never understand this mindset of having a funny bundle or really flashy bundles being added ruining COD.

And the reason is simple... Game is meant to be fun. That's just it. COD always been this Arcade Shooter game. And since Ghosts, the wacky skins and camo's always been there through COD's history. And its fun. I like seeing people running around with dumb skins because its meant to be fun. You are meant to have fun.

And COD was never this ultra-realistic serious game. Since COD4, people been doing these insane trick-shots, trolling on gun-games, trash-talking constantly just to piss people off on other team and overall it was what made COD fun. Experience was different than the other games. It never took itself seriously and that's what I like about COD.

I think people in this "I wanna play something serious" mind-set should look at other games like Military Sims. That's where you can actually immerse yourself into this Military setting fully.

Funny enough, people will hate me because I say this as if I buy every bundle. In reality I just bought Ghost's golden masked bundle and Homelander because I thought it was goofy having Homelander. That's literally it. And funny enough, I don't mind seeing Nicki Minaj running around. It's funny seeing it. Snoop Dogg also voiced some stuff back before as well. Like in Ghost if I remember correctly. In the end all of them meant to be fun stuff and optional. If you wanna just be a solider you can still be a solider and that's why the argument doesn't make sense to me anymore.

I hope people will move on from this "Bundle's ruining COD" phase and actually focus the problems like SBMM and EOMM.

More then one problem can exist at the same time. The overly tight tuning of SBMM is also an issue, but the lack of visual cohesion is also an issue.

Games like the original Modern Warfare 3 managed to have an aesthetic where everything felt a part of a world that was established, that is gone in more recent games multiplayer. You may not care about this but it is a very valid complaint and is a big part of why I stopped purchasing and playing the more recent cod games.

In your own words it is goofy having homelander, and that goofiness is something many do not like. It is fine if you do not have an issue with it or even like it, but it was not a part of the series for a long time. It isn't surprising when such changes are made not everyone is going to be happy with them.

I can agree the half point but demanding these bundles gone is getting in front of main goal of these games, which is having fun. It would've bothered me if I saw Homelander or Snoop Dogg making a cameo in Campaing for example. But for Multiplayer or Warzone or even Zombies, I'll never understand this "COD is dead because of Nicki Minaj bundle".

I didn't say you can't have bundles, I said I would like them to fit the world the campaign establishes so there is a cohesive look to the world. My favourite example of this for cod is world at war, everything feels apart of the war the game is set in. Which to me is important.

That modern cod is monetized like a ftp game despite being a paid game doesn't sit well with me either but not what I was addressing and I would likely just ignore it if the cosmetics could either be disabled (like in street fighter 6) or they all fit the world and didn't feel out of place.

I like the core gameplay loop of cod, at least old cod, I liked how world at war for example has a cohesive look and feel to it. I dislike that this is no longer present on modern cod mp. Nothing you said addresses anything I said.
