I've been shadowbanned twice in both Modern Warfare II and Modern Warfare III. Both times it took about a week for it to be lifted.
You can still play, that is why they have termed it as Limited Matchmaking. You just have a longer match wait time for anything other than Shipment from what I've experienced since it has to make you connect at 200 ms every match to quarantine you in lobbies with others whose accounts are also under review.
My first ever shadowban was on the final week of The Haunting event for Modern Warfare II in October and I wish I was joking but whenever I tried to match for The Haunting 24/7 it changed to Shipment 24/7 when I actually connected.
See that's the thing, you can't be banned from reports.
This is why you will both be stuck in the perpetual shadow ban loop. You don't understand why you got banned, attribute it to "People reported me" and continue the behavior that is actually getting you shadow banned.
As has been explained in SEVERAL posts, you DO NOT get banned from reports. Multiple reports don't even happen. If someone in a game reports you for cheating, if another 5 people also report you, the reports are discarded.
There is a 90% chance that you are being limited for toxic behavior.
I wish there was a way to track how many people actually ended up in the shadow realm because someone haccused them, and they said something toxic in return. "I'm not cheating, you just suck ***** you <insert slur here> Noob!" This person then get's shadow banned for the slur and toxicity, but goes to their grave believeing they got banned because that " <insert slur here> Noob!" reported them.
It just sees/hears you call someone a loser and dings you. There is a solid chance the person ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on your country was also banned, Going forward, the best thing to do is remain silent, and report the person.
That's not true i've watched streamers report players and they banned instantly on screen.
Reports don't result in bans, it's straight from the company. If you want to believe a conspiracy theory that evil lizard people work at ATV and for nefarious motivations that nobody knows, lies about how the report function works? That's your problem.
I can't rehabilitate every flat earther, no moon landing the earth is really 1000 years old conspiracy nut I come across.
So go forth and remain ignorant.
I dont ever voice talk and i very rarely text chat either. Its really a dumb system they have setup. SBMM is already dumb enough and then if you somehow overcome it and do "too well" you get shadow banned apparently.
I literally just got shadowbanned while playing all day with a full 6 man team and we don't use gamechat. Don't try and tell people you don't get banned for reports cuz that's false..and I've never cheated nor ever want to cheat. I had a good day playing and all of a sudden I'm shadow banned so it's most definitely from getting reported. Over 2400 hours on the game and they think im gonna start cheating now after that long and spending a good amount of money.
