ERROR DirectX 0x887A0005
AMD 7900XTX Graphics Card Crashes While Playing Warzone 3 - Seeking Help!

Hello everyone,

I've been encountering a persistent issue with my AMD 7900XTX graphics card while playing Warzone 3. Despite having good FPS, my game crashes frequently. I've tried multiple solutions, including formatting my PC, reinstalling Windows, and updating all my drivers, but unfortunately, the problem persists.

Interestingly, I've noticed that these crashes coincide with a DirectX Error (Error Code: 0x887A0005). I attempted to reach out for support via the provided error link, but I also wanted to leverage the insights and assistance of this community.

Furthermore, I've observed a pattern where the issue resurfaces whenever I receive a notification from Discord. Despite turning off all overlays, including those from Discord, and disabling all notifications, the problem persists.

Has anyone else encountered a similar issue? Any suggestions on the possible cause and how to resolve it would be greatly appreciated.

Additionally, I've been experimenting with background applications and noticed that every time I receive a Discord notification, this error occurs. I typically use two monitors, with Discord running on the second monitor. To troubleshoot, I've tried disabling all notifications and minimizing Discord instead of keeping it in full-screen mode, but unfortunately, this hasn't resolved the issue. It's perplexing that each notification triggers a game crash.

Click Steam, Go to Downloads, and Clear Download Cache, Then run the game, restart your shaders optimization, exit the game and open it back up, wait for the download shaders optimization to finish, and hopefully that should stop it now. Im running the game right now to see if I need to do that again, because after I did that, I was able to run the game way longer than before the crash has happened, meaning it hasn't happened at all for me. After I did that.

Also, be sure to disable every overlay possible, including geforce, Steam, Discord. At least that way, it'll definitely wont crash after doing those followings.

YEAH, you gotta repeat those steps every time you try and play the game. I got the DirectX error\

I have tried all those steps including turning off overlay I think the recent update from AMD and COD is the problem combined

I have been having constant crashes since season 2 update. I have tried everything and longest I've had is two games of resurgence before a crash, and even then only been that lucky twice. The crashing is ridiculous and no one seems to have a fix so I think i'm stuck waiting till a patch is released. I have updated drivers, configured my bios, removed the player file in downloads to reset all of my settings, uninstalled the game and reinstalled, nothing is fixing this unfortunately.

I came to the same conclusion. I have also tried all those workarounds for this crash and checked my PC for possible Hardware-errors (RAM,Graphiccard)....The crash remains the same.I hope the fix it soon,i mean if no one can play the game,no one will buy their *fill in a appropriate adjective* bundles in the shop.
PS:I had to stopped the windows-updater too ,because there patch is also broken and cant be installed.

If this is the same error like last year, it could be a settings in AMD adrenalin.
I think they called it Low latency, or something like that - disable it
lowering my resolution from 3440x1440 to 2560x1440 works for me.. game looks so much worse but its playable without crash..

i have a AMD 6900xt and i roll back to the 23.12.1 driver. Deleting the 24.2.1 per DDU in Windows Savemode.
I set Textures and AnisotropFilters to medium and the rest to low or off and 4 sessons without crashing.
feels so...unusual.
but i stay alert.
