reWASD (Causes Crashes) Not Cheat Software

reWASD is not cheating software.

If you have an Xbox controller and a Playstation Plus subscription to play the older Sony games, you're able to rebind the expected Playstation Controller buttons to match your Xbox controller or whatever is more comfortable. This works for any controller, in fact. It's such a widely accepted solution for cross-controller compatibility that this update feels like more of an attack on Sony and their other PC platform competitors. It's a blanketed target of "cheaters" that just so happens to cover compatibility with their competitors.

It's not right and it's not fair.

reWASD doesn't run on startup. The game just scans the system to check if it's installed. The workaround really should check if the application is running. If I'm not mistaken, the game itself allows you to update your controller scheme. Steam also has it's own Big Picture controller settings from the community. I can't think of a reason to have both reWASD running and CoD.

I'm also conflicted by this game scanning my installed applications. On one-hand, I'm on an OS owned by the same company that owns the game. They surely already know what I have installed. On the other hand, it still feels like an invasion of privacy, something I'm not sure Steam should just let games do.

Rewasd doesn't have aim assist. The fault lies with the game developers having overpowered aim assist in their games. Were k&m players decides to download rewasd and mask their k&m as a controller.

Did you just delete it or uninstalled it. Rewasd has to be uninstalled not just deleted.

It's not about Steam, it's about mapping controller bindings for older games.

Think of speedrunners, for example.

The PlayStation Plus store doesn't provide Xbox controller mappings for the older games in their library.

There are some GoG games that also don't have the proper mappings.

reWASD has never been advertised as a cheating software and if you have an alternative that's just as good as reWASD that isn't also bannable let me know, cause the options are slim.

The problem with steam input is that It can glitch and bug out. If it does this then you have to quit the game then relaunch the game again. One of the reasons why I switched to rewasd.

It's not fair at all that they are requiring us to completely uninstall reWASD for Call of Duty to work. So even if I want to use it for other games I have to uninstall and reinstall it. I am a quadriplegic disabled gamer and highly rely on reWASD for many games I play including Call of Duty. I have never used it to cheat and don't consider button remapping cheating.

Furthermore even though Call of Duty provides their own button mapping they still may be breaking some ADA laws by forcing us to remove the program entirely as I use it for other things as mentioned.

It completely fair. You are not entitled to play cod. You agree to thier TOS to play the game and when you are agreeing to the TOS you are agreeing that they can do this.

Sorry to disappoint you but I don't have call of duty 2/3 or warzone installed. And yes steam input can glitch out on you. What I'm going to do to get around this problem is to have two boot drivers. One with rewasd and the other without rewasd.

I don't know why the publisher of call of duty decided to out right that you can't have rewasd installed. Well The Finals just decide to remove aim assist from k&m players who use rewasd.
