Phone Verification not working?
Anyone else having an issue that when you verify your phone on steam the game still asks you to verify it again on a never ending loop? I can't seem to get a hold of Steam or Activision help for this verification issue. If anyone has some tips it would all be appreciated. P.S. I tried verifying game files, full uninstall and install, remove my number and add it again, and trying a whole different number.

EDIT 1 (since I can't mark my own post as an answer)(12/17/23):
So I got my game to work finally! As for everyone trying the remove phone and add it again, that only works once and then you have to do it again every time the game closes or crashes. After talking to both steam and activision they both say they can't help since steam doesn't help with in game issues but activision cant help with phone verification. But I got it to work by simply removing my number, adding it again, waiting 24 hours to verify it from the game. After waiting the 24 hours the game will ask you to verify and will bring you to steam to do it, if you waited the 24 hours the steam area will have a real prompt for verifying, but you MUST WAIT 24 hours otherwise it will tell you that you have done it too recently.
This has worked for me and about 7 of my friends. Since its consistent I assume this should help most if not all of you.

TLDR: Remove your phone from steam, add it again, wait 24 hours, verify from in game.

just switched over to windows 11 and it instantly promted me with a 27gb update not sure if it was there before or after the switch but it actually let me verify the phone number legitly and i can play now!

Anyone been able to solve this yet? Wasted a whole week with activision troubleshooting even reinstalling steam and all my games only for them to tell me that they don't deal with SMS on steam they abruptly closed my case. Reached out to steam and they said they don't deal with non valve games. It has been frustrating specially spending all day reinstalling steam. I asked for a refund so I could buy the battle net version since that works but they wont do that, at this point I am ready to rebuy the game again but Im sure thats what activatision wants us to do.

and change the phone number by the same.

Not sure if this will help any of you but i noticed the message going away after i run steam as an admin. Additionally i set that cod.exe run as an admin from the compatibility settings.

I tried that, but now Steam won't let me re-add my phone number again. It never sent the SMS confirmation code, and is now telling me I tried too many times and have to wait a whole damn week to try again. Opened a steam support ticket 14 hours ago, but zero response so far... I just want to play the damn game I paid for....

What is this ♥♥♥♥, everyday this fking game is asking me for that, most time i shut down the game after this message appears, works sometimes but today im not able to get in, wrote a ticket to the activision support.. i even changed the phone number to my girlfriends mobilephone number, still the same 🥲

It’s strange, but it worked for me when I confirmed the phone number while in the game and it worked for me, but only after 4 attempts to confirm.

Fix for me was deleting my phone number repeatedly until i got the verification code from a different number than usual.

Now i can login everytime without any issues, problem was solved after 1 weeks off continously phone verifications.
