Phone Verification not working?
Anyone else having an issue that when you verify your phone on steam the game still asks you to verify it again on a never ending loop? I can't seem to get a hold of Steam or Activision help for this verification issue. If anyone has some tips it would all be appreciated. P.S. I tried verifying game files, full uninstall and install, remove my number and add it again, and trying a whole different number.

EDIT 1 (since I can't mark my own post as an answer)(12/17/23):
So I got my game to work finally! As for everyone trying the remove phone and add it again, that only works once and then you have to do it again every time the game closes or crashes. After talking to both steam and activision they both say they can't help since steam doesn't help with in game issues but activision cant help with phone verification. But I got it to work by simply removing my number, adding it again, waiting 24 hours to verify it from the game. After waiting the 24 hours the game will ask you to verify and will bring you to steam to do it, if you waited the 24 hours the steam area will have a real prompt for verifying, but you MUST WAIT 24 hours otherwise it will tell you that you have done it too recently.
This has worked for me and about 7 of my friends. Since its consistent I assume this should help most if not all of you.

TLDR: Remove your phone from steam, add it again, wait 24 hours, verify from in game.

yes and have been for days now it will sometimes work aswell then the next day it makes me do it all over again and doesn't work lol how do we fix it ??

I'm not sure what is causing the issues but I've been on endless loop of it working then not working.

The game was working fine till now

Yeah Ive gotten it to work by removing my number, restarting game, verify my number, load up MW2 campaign, back out to cod HQ. But if the game crashes or you close it, you have to do it all over again. Its like a 40 minute process for just a chance to play. Its really upsetting me now XD. Sucks that support for both companies won't help. If I get answers I will let you know though!

I dont know if this is a fix or not but without doing any of those steps from my previous post I just loaded up MW2 and then backed out to main menu and it let me access the whole CoD HQ. Its a step but at least its easier than everything I said before

mine works then stops working and just repeats, i did some research and saw that people were unlinking then linking there activision accounts back to there steam, tried that and it worked then stopped working once i backed out again so at this point im defeated haha :steamfacepalm:

I found my solution! Unlink steam from my CODHQ install and create a Free battlenet account link my CODHQ acc to my new battlenet app and finally after 3 Fresh installs and so many other trys with no help from steam. I can play with the same progression the same cod account with the battlenet luncher so steam saying that we need to communicate with the game devs because your phone is verified and ready to go is a load of …. I dont care

nightmare is over boys just transfer to battlenet

Unfortunately, this does not carry over the paid content you bought such as the multiplayer portions of the game or zombies.

This is helpful if you're only playing Battle Royale so I'm still at a loss on how I can even play my game.
Works perfectly fine on my Battle Net and my Xbox but for some reason the steam verification for this game keeps going in a loop

This is incredibly frustrating. Steam said it's not their game and they cannot help. I am not sure if the problem is steam or activision. And its over 20 hours and I cannot play mw3 multiplayer. Does anyone have a fix? I removed the hone number from steam and put in a new one and I'm still getting the same issue saying: You have recently verified your phone number. As a result, you cannot verify it again at this time.

It's nearly 2024 and they still have a 90s style support system. No online chat support.

I activated the 2 factor authentication on my activision account in their website and then removed my number on steam and then re verified my number and so far I haven’t had an issue.

Keep us updated, I wish Activision support would just contact the developers to see what is going on, since enough people are asking for help at this point.

Try to change in game language to different of yours, run the game. It helped me
