What do mean "Konni"

The enemy group is called "Konni", but I can't find any explanation on the origin or meaning of this name.

Does this mean anything in Russian or another language ?

Or does it have anything to do with the Modern Warfare series universe ?

Apparently its Makarovs "faction". No idea where it came from or started. Just that its apparently Makarov's group. Game doesn't explain it. Guessing its some Warzone ♥♥♥♥

Even looking for explanations on sites dedicated to the series, I can't find any explanation. This may be something that is known by the developers (a play on words, an allusion to something personal, etc.).

"Play on words" i mean yeah "Konni" "Commie" resemblance is there
