"Verify phone number" is tgreyed out?
Hey,
I need to verify my phone number to play online but the verify number button in the steam client is greyed out (tried adding the number after removing a few times). I literally can't play the game now. What can I try?

Thanks!

I actually fixed it by unlinking and then re-linking my steam from my Activision account. Hope that helps you too!

Sure, go on the activision website and log in with your activision account. Then find the settings (it's somewhere in the profile settings, it was easy to find) and click unlink on your linked steam account. Then open COD via Steam and log in to your activision account in game. That's how I fixed it. :)

This is going to sound like the weirdest fix, it's something to do with Blizzard client side of things possibly? This had worked for me doesn't mean it's going to work for everyone.

I've tried everything from un-linking my phone number on Steam, to un-linking my number/Steam Account on the Call of Duty site.
So I decided just test and see if it was working on the blizzard side of things with the battle royale mode.
Downloaded the battle royale portion of the game on the battle net client, installed it, it asked for my number even there.
I had my number attached to that account for years and it still asked so I verify the number.

After that I was able to play on the battle net side of things (not sure if there an easier way to verify your number on the blizzard side of things)
Log back into your steam account once you confirm you're able to log into the main menu.
It may ask you to verify your account, click verify, exit.
It may say verify again, this time click exit, then it should say your account is validated.

Quick Edit: I logged in and out 5 times to test and I'm not having any issues now.

seems like some weird desync issue between the two clients? I use to play MW2019 Warzone on Battle Net before it was even on Steam.

So those are some things to try, try verifying your number on the blizzard client side of things if you ever used the blizzard client.

If this works for anyone, please reply saying it works so if people google the same issue they can see a fix that possibly can work for them.
I've been googling this issue for 2 days now and just only able to fix it.

Still the same result, nothing works.

Yeah, does sound weird. I'll try though!

I hope it works! I'm not sure what the exact issue causing this since I'm not a huge technical guy.
But this was the fix I discover for myself at least.

I have the same situation, I have different numbers, it doesn’t help, only 20 re-entries into the game help and it logs in 20 times

Man it’s such a slap in the face tbh. No support from steam or Activision whatsoever. Legitimate scam!
