Anyone else getting crashes with "DirectX error?
I have uninstalled, reinstalled so many times, configured game files, done basically anything under the sun, submitted countless reports. Never used to happen on MWII or any cod predating MWIII. Does anyone know of a fix?

Same boat bro. Its been 3 days. Updated the drivers, Verify the integrity of the files, reinstalling the game, Run in safe mode, renaming the file, did all YT guides in dealing with crashes, NOTHING WORKED. Only hope is the GAME getting PATCHED.

Same this sucks
same here, ever since last patch. everytime i go into weapons tab it crashes with direct x error
Post pc specs, but do this first:

Basics;
Make sure you have +35 GB free space on systemdisc C:
(for temporay files, shaders loading)

Set virtual memory to manual between 3000-26 000MB.
This game use a lot of it. Restart

If the game is on another disc, you need 10% more free space then the game size with the updates included. Remember all updates are normally downloaded to sysdisc first.

Update bios and other drivers on MB.
You should have program for this from MB manufactor.

You run windows and steam as and Admin???

Close game. Clear download catche in steam settings. Steam restarts.

Disable any overclocking. disable XMP and set it to a fix speed for the sticks.

This only happens to me if I'm using AMDs performance thing to show on the screen the fps and whatnot. I have never had it once after turning it off.
Getting it all the time since like 2-3 days.
Tried every trouble shootings steps, Pure & Rustic - if everything else works but it's only this game crashing - no need to do all those steps.

They have just managed to wreck a somewhat working ship.
It's not like it was a new game ;)
Yet again same old story with 'em..
reinstalling directX and visual c ++ and clearing cod cache worked for me. I followed a majority of this video and it worked https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-ydOXMsyKY .I still get the profile sign out crap but it fixed the directx error crash . Hope this helps

I gave up on it, I'm trying to contact steam to get some type of solution from them. I've tried everything, even uninstalling windows, I tried youtube solutions, but nothing seems to work.

OKAY IM NOT YELLING JUST MAKING THIS BOLD FOR ANYONE STILL LOOKING FOR A SOLUTION BUT COD RECOMMENDS AMD CARDS USE UPDATE 23.10.2 They bury this info on their cod site for some reason. I've changed to it and it hasn't crashed in 3 days, I've played ranked and zombies for hours and no errors at all. Also when you launch the game it will give you a warning about your drivers not being able to run the game just ignore it every time.
Also try what this person said in post 1.

Is your bios up to date by checking your motherboard website?

If not you would need a USB format the USB to fat 32 then download it then put it on the USB and plug it in to your PC and update.

Make sure all your drivers are up to date
Make sure windows is up to date

Also make sure you actually meet the requirements by using

Check to see if you have any mini dumps by clicking c drive then windows then mini dumps

When using the event viewer, do custom, as this can narrow down the issue, and click saved and enter a name for it.

To create a custom view for the event viewer, click Action, then click the time the error happened. Then click error.

Then click on the event log windows.

Then click okay, then click saved.

This helps you narrow down the issue, then get WinDpg from the Microsoft Store, open WinDpg, and make sure to run as an admin. Click file, then go to file explorer.

use windpg on the mini dump file. Click analyze, and then when it is done, Failure bucket ID is what you're looking for.
