How Much RAM Does The Game Use?
If playing on 1440p. I use 16gb RAM with RTX 3060TI and I5 12400F.

I get like 80ish FPS.

Wondering if 32gb would give me a better FPS boost and also less stutters?

the game utilises VRAM not RAM, so depending on how much VRAM your GPU has it will use that, I believe a 3060ti is 8GBVRAM. Very stupid and yet to find if there is a way to just use ram instead...

right now it's using over 5gb for me, small map, i dunno about warzone and zombies etc

Thing is with 16gb RAM, my system alone uses 8gb.

I run the game and now I am using almost 90% of my RAM.

It just slows my computer down so much that I can't even use my 2nd monitor to Browse Chrome or use YouTube when I need to follow a guide or something

Your setup seems to be sufficient. You probably have too much junk in your operating system.

If your system is eating 8gb alone, and I mean when idle, then you may have a problem dude.
And unless you have DDR5, 16GB is not enough to run cod and applications altogether, especially chrome. You may be better using another browser to watch youtube videos while the game is running, one that doesnt eat your ram. Best fix would be to get 32gb, and clean your computer, system shouldn't use 8gb ram.

But System is clean .... Don't have any other Apps running.

Most consuming Apps are Epic, Steam, Battle.Net etc.

The rest are System Tasks.

So unless I close all my gaming apps, I use about 40%.

Think I will just upgrade to 32gb because of my use of a second monitor and doing other stuff while I game.

Maybe I can Ray Trace certain games as well with 32gb as now with 16gb I can't even use Ray Trace in games without running 20fps pr 25fps max

i don't have any game running right now but with firefox and some game launchers running my system is using 63% of my 32gb, nothing unusual about your system using 8gb when idle

Yeah more ram the better, make sure its good speed. Buying slower ram speed even if its more available can make it worse. Look up your motherboard and its capabilities. Ram is big more background processes. That is what causes stutters in many situations. Also the vram slider in game isn't fully accurate. It definitely is heavy on usage and even though the projected usage may say 5gb it definitely is using more especially if you aren't running it on low. The best result for your card/cpu could be a solid 80-100 fps with no stutters on maybe medium/low stuff because the game itself is just not optimized great.

When Idle I use 6gb off my 16gb. Clean System Install. PC is about 1 month old and I have not installed anything.

My COD uses 8gb alone when I look at Task Manager ... sometimes even jumps up to 10gb.

Sitting in Main Menu of COD I am using 12.6gb of my RAM out of the 16GB I have. I only have 3gb left.

When I jump in to a game it takes about another 1gb to 1.5gb out of my 3gb I have left.

Yeah I am def upgrading to 32gb RAM

Ray tracing is definitely GPU and vram heavy. Ram in that case wouldn't help pursade the ability to use it or not use it. Depends on the game and how well nvidia's ray tracing performs specific to that title.

your system will take advangate of as much RAM as you have, so if you have 32gb then it will try and utilise that same with 64gb ect, im sure at some point the amount of ram out ways the need tbh. im on 32 and i saw a slight increase in performance

also VRAM and RAM are different use types they don't really affect each other tbh, system RAM will benefit you in tasks and VRAM will benefit you while gaming, only benefit you may have is what is stored in RAM so you can load faster.

i have 32gb RAMM due to using FL studio and plugins tend to smash system ram quite a bit once you have multiple FX?plugins in a track.

lol my 3070ti is working fine tbh mostly 100+ fps so no im not surprised he has 80fps also depends on his game settings.

i'd say his framerate is due to the cpu -> gpu bottleneck, not cause of the gpu itself
