Why am i appearing offline on mw3

Anyone know when i log ontp MW3 my friends say i am not online but they can still join my session. It makes no sense. I am online for steam but for some reason mw3 says it doesnt.

my entire game is messing up taking 10-20 minutes to find games wont let me play zombies
