Cannot update game / "content server unreachable"

Anyone else having this issue as well? Can't update, can't launch.
Clicking on update in the Manage Downloads tab attempts to start but immediately stops and says "Content Server Unreacable"...but judging by forum activity there are still plenty of people connecting and playing.

I've already verified local files, restarted, and reset modem.

I think it is a Steam issue. I have had this issue since yesterday.

currently experiencing the same error. my download just says resume and when i click it does nothing but go back to resume
