why is using a vpn considered cheating?

VPN's can be considered cheats by creating lag so the user cannot shoot you or is hard to detect you.

Someone said it interferes with match making so you can get easy lobbies.
I'm not sure how that works to be honest.

You set your location to some remote country on the other side of the world where it’s 4am. Not many great players in Egypt at that time of day. You will get easy lobbies.

It’s a scummy move and people do get banned for it.

Thanks for the answers...but would it not also create a high ping for the vpn user?

Yes, that's a easy way to detect cheaters. Some are like with 149 and suddenly 999, they may be doing something weird and illegal.

Because using VPN (Virtual Private Network) is considered ban evading which is against ToS.
