Persistent "SERVER DISCONNECTED" Error Connecting to Call of Duty Servers - Tried Multiple Fixes, Seeking Community Help
Hey everyone,

I'm having a problem playing Call of Duty. Every time I try to start the game, I get hit with a frustrating "SERVER DISCONNECTED
You have been disconnected from the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III servers. Please try again or visit https://support.activision.com/onlineservices for updates." error.

This issue popped up suddenly, and since then, connecting has been impossible. The only workaround seems to be using a VPN, but that's not ideal due to potential ban and added ping.

A bit more context:

Initially encountered this problem on Battle.net, where I attempted a reinstall, but sadly, no luck. I then tried downloading the game on Steam, but the issue persisted.

Here's a list of the troubleshooting steps taken so far:

Restarted the game and devices multiple times.
Reinstalled the game on both Battle.net and Steam.
Ensured all game files and system drivers are up to date.
Changing the region to Asia, Europe, and Americas.
Enabled UPnP and set up port forwarding using official MW ports (https://support.activision.com/articles/ports-used-for-call-of-duty-games).
Assigned a static IP address to the PC within the network.
Whitelisting anything related to COD on both Windows 10 Firewall and router/modem AP firewall.
Checked and ensured NAT type is open.
Modified LAN settings and attempted IP address changes.
Despite all these efforts, the problem remains unresolved, and I'm really at a loss for what to try next.

I've even submitted a support ticket, but I'm not overly hopeful about a quick resolution, especially since I haven't received a response yet.

Also, I'm part of a trio squad where two of us, including me and my roommate, share the same internet and the same issue. The third friend doesn't face this issue.

Any insights or solutions would be a huge help. Thanks!

I have the exact same issue as you since the new warzone update in december (I am on blizzard), my brother (who lives in the same house) does not have this issue though. i sometimes have to restart my PC 30 times before it allows me to connect to the game.

just let me know the outcome of the ticket please because i'm not sure what else to do either.

Thanks.

My ticket didn't really help, and it closed automatically because I couldn't respond on time—I had some real-life stuff going on. So, it looks like the only way to play is with a VPN. And if you want your regular ping, you gotta use a VPN along with port forwarding.

Thanks for responding, annoying that the only way to play is with a vpn.

I’ve been having the same problem since December. I was able to fix it for a month by uninstalling and reinstalling steam, but it inevitably came back. Did you guys ever find a solution?

There is a simple answer here. The issue is not from our end. Activision are incompetent and cant tell ♥♥♥♥ from Shinola.

I have the exact same problem and have tried everything, my connection is also 2GB Upstream and Downstream. Ridiculous

The problem resolved itself randomly after 4 or 5 months of not playing the game in the household, and I was able to play on one computer(my room mate didn't try). Here are the possible fixes I found after trying all other solutions:

Contact your ISP and request a static IP(no clue if this works). Also, ask them to remove any restrictions on your network, as they sometimes impose these randomly.
Consider changing your ISP altogether.
Kick anyone in your household who plays any cod games.
Or just wait, as I did.

My assumption is that it's almost like an IP ban. I think they are using outdated network detection from decades ago. When you connect with two or more devices, sometimes their AC or network system or whatever the fk its called freaks out and bans your external IP, blocking everyone on that network from playing. Using a VPN changes your external IP, which allows you to play the game.

It's ridiculous that a game requires this level of bs. Trying to fix this one issue made me feel like I was becoming an IT network technician 5 months ago, and I gave up trying to fix it because its on their end.

Fck activision I guess

Could you do a walkthrough on what you use?
