CPU Hitting 90 C in gameplay and menus
Anybody know what this means? I'm not that computer savvy but the game has been stuttering like crazy so I checked my temps and my CPU is sky rocketing. Not sure what to do.

90 isn't normal. Write your specs: cpu, gpu and what coolers are you using

perhaps its time for a cleaning

That aint normal.
Two bells are ringing: it's either cleaning time or remove 'stock cooler' time.

Maybe time to reapply new thermal paste and/or increase your fan speed. Could be a overworked low-end cpu, or a high-end cpu that needs a better heatsink and fan. Hard to say what's causing the problem with such little detail.
Cleaning, repaste, or better fan are all good suggestions. If none of those fix it then look into undervolting, especially if you are on a laptop. I went from 94-96c in MW2 to peak 70 with undervolting and new paste and no noticeable performance loss. You do need to watch a guide and understand what you are doing though.

disable OC, my i7 11700H was OCing and i tuned down to 99% instead of 100%. As for my desktop i7 10700k i also adjusted to 99% usage and it dropped from 85 to 50 and still maintaining 120 FPS

Yep I may bring it somewhere to get some new thermal paste - its an i7 9700k. I built this thing around 2020 and haven't replaced the thermal paste since then so that may be it.
