Shadow Bans are mainly for people who are extremely toxic and don't follow the rules they made you agree to in the start and don't show up as a "game ban" on your steam profile. These bans are mainly to separate toxic players from those who don't act like immature goons kind of like how they did with GTA 5 Dunce Lobbies.

If you get caught by Ricochet you will just get a straight up game ban, there is no shadow ban. Like how OP didn't get shadow banned, they got straight up BANNED by Ricochet for using cheat software.

Shadowbans are not necessarily only for ,,toxic" people. Even if you suddenly play too good or there is a suspicious improvement in your gameplay (or you simply have a really good seassion) or you've been reported too many times (because a bad players see cheaters everywhere) you may sometimes get shadowbanned. Almost every big streamer i know got shadowbanned at least once. It just happens. If you have a clear conscience, shadowban will dissapear in a few days...

I'm in the same boat. I was shadowbanned the first day after about 5 matches. I have no idea what caused it. I refunded the game as I'm unable to play it. Never even got to try zombies.
