Fix for those missing DLSS in MWII or MWIII
I tried a lot of things, even deleting my CoD folder in documents. But what fixed it for me was doing a completely fresh driver reinstall.

Just go to the GeForce drivers website, get the latest one and then choose custom installation, make sure the "Perform a clean install" button is checked. I then restarted my PC, redid my control panel settings and also re-deleted my CoD documents folder just so the game can redo the detection process.

This also fixed exclusive fullscreen being missing. It should be said that this is for Nvidia only, I'm not sure if there's an equivalent issue with AMD cards.

Update as of 6th December 2023: With the Season 1 update adding DLSS 3, it's effectively screwed people using RTX 20 and 30 series cards. As DLSS 3 is only compatible with 40 series cards. There are plans of adding DLSS 3.5 which will add support back to 20 and 30 series cards but it may be a long while before it gets added.

I've not made any optimisations in my control panel as I feel it's not needed for CoD. But I did turn on low latency mode and set power management to "prefer maximum performance".

@Oostin I have a 3090. Are you stating that I can no longer use dlss with COD since the season 1 update? Or did some error cause dlss options to disappear? Please clarify.

I answered my own question... Well, you actually did. I reinstalled my driver and the options came back. Much thanks!

The clean install did not work for me, but I did find something that did. Go to Settings > System > Display > Graphics. You should see a list of all your games. If you do not see COD in the list, you can browse and add it. Once its added, click on COD and select options. Change graphics preference from Let Windows Decide, to High Performance. That did it for me.

I’m so confused, I’m gaming on a RTX 4050 gaming laptop and for some reason, every single time I’ve played Warzone/COD through battle.net, there has never been an issue and it runs smooth and perfectly. But for some reason, when I download MW3 off of steam, there is like a 50/50 chance that DLSS goes missing in the settings, along with the other NVIDIA settings such as AI Frame Generation, etc…. I’m super bummed out because I bought MW3 on steam a few days ago strictly for multiplayer and zombies but I can’t even enjoy it, and steam won’t issue me a refund because I had 2.5 hours at the time, which was spent adjusting settings and relaunching the game!!!!!! Lol. I’ve tried everything, redownloading several times, verifying files, going into my graphics settings and setting COD to my NVIDIA GPU, I’ve yet to try the graphics reinstall, and I don’t want to potentially mess anything up because my drivers are up to date and performing fine. Keep in mind, I got this gaming laptop in March of this year(2024). It’s a Gigabyte G6 Gaming Laptop, it’s amazing!!!!! But Steam/Activision seriously need to do something about this, this is ridiculous! And the fact that there isn’t a “solid” fix, that’s also crazy as well. I noticed that reinstallIng on the 4th attempt and verifying files made DLSS stay around for maybe 4-5 game launches, after that it just disappears again and starts its cycle of hide and seek again🤦🏾‍♂️ SOMEONE HELP PLZ, ANYONE!!!!!! I JUST WANT TO ENJOY MY ZOMBIE GHOST SKIN AND NOT HAVE TO BUY THE GAME IN FULL AGAIN💀💀💀

Hey! Just saw this! Thank you for replying, almost lost hope😭😭😭 but I’m confused, which one of the links refers to the DLSS missing? And is there an actual solid working fix as of now?
100% sure way I can get DLSS to work everytime on my 4060RTX is if you open the game WITHOUT the controller being on (Bluetooth) or connected. Once the game asks you to switch from Keyboard/Mouse mode turn on the controller. Once that keyboard mouse message disappears DLSS works 100% of time for me.

Any updates on a fix? Still having this issue in April 2025 with my Dell G15/ RTX 4050 GPU

It's literally random when DLSS appears, I've tried everything at this point, except for the solution to not connect the controller as the last guy said.
