DMZ is not going away!

I'm frankly surprised at how many confuse MW2 with Warzone, but on the other hand, I kind of understand the confusion a little bit. And I think Activision even welcome it because it's what drives up the sales for MW3. So I'm calling them out on this - I don't think they're acting in good faith on this matter...

First of all, DMZ is part of Warzone! Which used to be Warzone 2, but they dropped the 2, because of their plan to have Warzone as the core free experience for Call of Duty. Also part of Warzone are the Battle Royale modes.

MW2 only comes with a few benefits that go on top of that core experience, like operators, some initial CoD points, battlepass, etc.

MW3 doesn't come with a new Warzone, because remember, Warzone is a different product that also happens to be the core of Call of Duty! So they will be changing Warzone to include the new gameplay mechanics, and all the different bits and pieces, and that means DMZ gets those changes!
It comes with that new Zombie mode. And they did say that they have a new "aftermarket customization" for guns, that comes with MW3, which they make it sound like you'd have to buy MW3 in order for it to be available for you in Warzone, though there's no mention of that in the description of their MW3 steam page.

Speaking of, if you look at their MW3 Steam page, the description says that buying MW3 gets you MW2 too, which is mind-blowing to me. I mean, if they're including MW2 in that price, which is only 1 year old, I would at least expect an upgrade option for those who already purchased MW2...

But also what stands out from that page is the lack of mention of Warzone (except for the bit about pre-order which I find ridiculous since Warzone is free). Also

TLDR: DMZ is part of Warzone not MW2. With MW3 we're not getting a new Warzone, but because MW3 we're getting an updated Warzone, and that means DMZ too. FOR FREE!

You seem to have bought MW2, so maybe you don't know. But DMZ is part of Warzone. You can play it for free. I played it for free before I bought MW2.

Modern Warfare II will only have DMZ. Warzone in MWIII will not have DMZ.

warzone is getting updated to mw3's movement/content.

well the new 2024 Warzone will get all the new stuff of MW3 + zombies.

DMZ will be available as long warzone 2022 is still online, maybe activision will shut it down in the next year just like OG warzone.

DMZ will get some updates and maybe new missions and some stuff, but I doubt a lot of work would go into DMZ since the new money printing machine will be the OPEN WORLD ZOMBIES mode.

Activision already confirmed no new maps for dmz. So no new dmz as it stays where it is.

There's not going to be a Warzone 2. The whole point of retiring Warzone, and renaming Warzone 2 to Warzone was to have this as live game service, and to compete with the likes of Fortnite and Apex Legends.

But what they could do is take DMZ out of Warzone altogether. That's the only way I'd see DMZ losing support. As long as DMZ is part of Warzone, whatever gameplay changes come to Warzone will apply to DMZ.

As for OWZ, nah! They're using it as an incentive to drive MW3 sales, and if that floats your boat, by all means. Strategically though, it's a stupid move because the money they make on skins and bundles far outweighs the money they make from selling MW3.

I think they're not been very clear about the future of DMZ, as you say, DMZ is tied to Warzone. Warzone is getting an update when season 6 ends, but for now we know the update will only affect BR.

We'll have to wait till season ends to see what happens. I hate that they're not been clear about this, and looks like something they're doing purpouse to not affect sales of MW3.

I know that the only thing that interest me from MW3 is Zombies, if they stop giving content to DMZ most probably i'm not gonna buy MW3.

DMZ mode will die quickly soon 😢 because players do not play contracts in matches and they are not playing missions too 😌 What they do is only hunt players and ruin matches.

What missions are players gonna do if Activision doesn't update the current missions? most of the players finish all the missions months ago.
