PC shutting down
PC Shutting down

Warzone 2 -
Ryzen 9 5950x 32 gigs Corsair 3200 hz - xmp
1200 asus ROG Thor PSU platinum
FE 3080ti - I do not have it OC
MB- Asus ROG crosshair DarkHero III

Running Game on the lowest possible settings 1440p -

During the match randomly my pc will just shutdown as if I pulled the plug . I’m not getting any errors or warnings . I’ve monitored it happening each time and my temps are all fine . My GPU is running between 59-71 c at the hottest.

I have the latest drivers and bios updates and have reinstalled game along with testing it on steam and battle.net

My ram has been switched out 3 times now each of the ram sticks were all in perfect condition .

What is going on with my system why am I getting a complete shutdown of my PC while running warzone . It will happen sometimes 5-7 hours into playing or it might happen 3 matches in. I don’t understand what is wrong and I’ve pretty much completely rebuilt my pc twice now trying to figure it out .

I have the same problem. Halfway through the season I started getting these bugs and they made the game practically unplayable. Among my searches, I saw that the crash log was left in the windows event viewer and it is related to the Kernel-41 event. After executing the sfc /scannow command or the Chsdk or CleanUpImage several times, I gave up and was about to format my computer, although I did not rule out that it was an error in the game itself. Luckily an update from the developers fixed that, however I guess with the latest update or a recent small update, that issue sadly returned. It is very annoying that this continues to happen, I bought the game as well as many other players for a stable minimum experience and this company cannot take care of it. I'm tired of this situation

So you are experiencing the random shutdowns as well ? If it’s related to the kernel can’t we just roll back drivers and flash bios ?

Sounds like power failure on the PSU. Limit the game's fps to 60 or even 30fps to lower the power strain and see if it's still happens.

Hey I will also just mention for your case. MW2 screwed up my operating system as well and I fixed it by downloading an "in place installation" of Win11. You can basically reinstall windows without losing anything which is very nifty. Look it up and give it a shot if you want.

I bought a new PSU and installed it - happened again within 8 hours of play testing on low settings .

Bottom line is that power to your computer is unstable. It could be the power supply, the socket you hook the computer up into or otherwise

Hi, in my experience as an IT professional, this behaviour is due to CPU temperature: it is CPUs "protection measure" against high temperature damage: it shuts down suddendly.

You can try to check and validate your cpu fan / cooling system and if everything is working properly, re apply thermal paste to your CPU, check air flow in your PC case (ie intake from the front fans, exhaust at the back), maybe keep your PC case open and test. Maybe is worth giving a shot at this.

Good luck!

Thank you ! That’s going to be the next step due to it being surrounded in liquid cooling . I’ll have to hire someone to perform that for me .

you can try turn auto restarts off under sysdm.cpl

Advanced
Start up and recovery
Do new ryzen's still need ryzen controller the app? to manage their use across temps, all cores usage etc

I'm not an IT professional by any means, but as someone who also had an over heating CPU problem, I thought the same thing. I had a similar CPU over heating problem. Not one that resulted in forced restarts, but I heard that happens very often when trying to figure out what was going on with my PC saying it was too hot to even boot past the bios.

OP you should download HWMonitor and check to see the temps of your PC 'cuz if it does get too hot the PC will shut down/restart. If that's the case it's likely the problem is your cooling.
