VSYNC doesn't work.
I have a 144Hz monitor and a RTX3080. Vsync does not have any effect on FPS at all. I am not seeing screen tearing but fps is not constant and it hovers around 80-100. I would expect to be constant at 72. What am I doing wrong?

Make sure your monitor is actually set to 144hz, I have a gigabyte monitor I had to set it to 165hz through the monitors software.

Yeah that was my first guess too, and it is indeed set to 144. Also, in the settings menu of the game I can actually see that refresh rate is AUTO:144.001

this link will test your refresh rate and tell you what it is.

I assume you are using a DP cable for the monitor, and that it does not have G-Sync only Free Sync. First you have to verify that your monitor does not have Free sync or G sync mode enabled as appropriate. If it still doesn't work, and the game keeps tearing, you could try going to the nvidia control panel in windows (without the game running) and modify the max FPS to 60 or 75 according to your taste. That way it might work.

GSync is disabled. For the vsync to work properly it has to be 72 for me. I tried setting frame rate limit to 72 but it is for some reason not a smooth experience... Thanks for the reply though.
