I have a toxic player harassing me in DMs and blocking them isn't doing anything to stop them

Is there any way to stop this? I reported them for offensive text chat and blocked them yet they still are able to message me and spam whispers. He is threatening to get my account banned as well. Last encounter with him was days ago.

I don't know, I started playing COD back in 2003 and while there have always been people that are inflammatory, it's just as bad now.

i was playing COD way back before broadband, when it was called DOOM (via DWANGO and other doomnet style dial-ins)

with 30ish years of online play experience, i can say that the current generation are the most toxic and brainwashed i can remember.

even with the advent of COD4:mw, players didn't go out of their way to troll, you would get the odd one, but it wasn't accepted as "the norm" it is now.

add the influencers/streamers/youtubers/e-beggars that pump troll buzzwords into players brains, that the players then parrot, ad nauseam - urinating into a sea of urine comes to mind.

Record them, text audio anything you can. Be pleasant and polite asking them to stop, all the while recording everything you can to get their steam account banned. Give evidence to EA and Steam, and hope they do not ignore it and ban him/her from both.

recording conversations without the particiants agreement is illegal in many countries around the world and can get the person recording it in much more trouble than the trashtalker.

Exactly, I have no clue where people get the idea that it was worse back then. I also started gaming online with doom then duke and quake and only in the last 8 years or so it really started getting toxic. Sure there were some trolls like you say, but they weren't nearly as prolific. The average lobby was usually full of people having fun, now there is at least one toxic player in every lobby.
