First time playing, launching the game leads to black screen, repeating clicking noise

Launching the game causes a black screen and a repeated clicking noise. How to fix?

Edit: deleting the "players" folder in Documents/Call of Duty directory fixed it. Thanks to everyone who suggested it!

me too, its normal, i read in the forum and the community says that is because the new update

same. I let it sit for an hour and still doing the same thing. tried all the "fixes" and nothing works. why did they release a game that doesn't work at all. hopefully they extend the free play for a week or something

I have had no problem loading the game, but I had fps drops and crash.

Do some cleanup in windows, clear download catche in steam settings/download

I went on their Trello board with the issues list and "Game doesn't run at all." wasn't even listed. You'd think they would make that a priority.

Can’t launch the game too, black screen after Activision logo. I downloaded the games 3 hours ago, restarted , reinstalled, impossible to play. Seriously

Maybe they all went home for the night and they'll come into work tomorrow morning and be "Oh hey, the game doesn't launch. I guess we should fix that."

i have the same issue. weird clicking noises. tried waiting the noises become normal audio but still wouldnt start

Yah, I get logo and intro animations, then it says the version number on the bottom and then goes black with the click click click click click click click click click audio forever. I have to do the three finger salute and kill it.

Same issue here, just deleted the game and waiting for a fix to download again, it happens when I skip the terms and conditions, then the black screen with stunning noises comes in
