Is this game safe to play anymore?

I saw a lot of videos and posts and reviews from the past few months saying to stay away from this game. I just wanna play cod but I wanna be safe.

Do I have to quit playing cod forever? I mean I've seen like 80k active players at the time of posting this but I don't want bad stuff happening to my computer.

not sure about this game but i am sure about peer to peer games like GTA online and Red Dead online are dangerous games to play for your PC security.
for this game MW2 it uses dedicated servers so should be fine.

Games themselves also have RTA/RCE vulnerabilities
combination of all makes playing cod a security threat

There is no single mention of how hackers made my game crash , i bet whoever replied to my case, she doesn't know the issue even. I replied back explaining it in a simpler way that it was the hacker who did it also the person who exposed my ip address in general chat and spammed it.

I dont want to be jerk to someone who is trying to do her job . If she ignores or doesnt acknowledge problem again. Probably she is IT person , given some procedures and manuals to forward in certain cases.

I simply give up , no need to try hard. I can play rainbow six siege on ubisoft's offical servers without compromising my security
same with cs go , battlefield . I mean why do i even try

It is sad to see that the game that i grown up with hit to a level so low that seems like there wont be turning back.

Thank you for responding to my support case.

Game crashing problem , i mean my problem was not due to a game file or another application. Hacker in game was making my game crash. When a cheater/hacker is not making my game crash . I can play Call of Duty Ghosts without game crashing.

Hackers/cheaters can get my ip address and whether they do it through security vulnerability or they just do an attack known as DDOS. But it is people who are cheating using 3rd party hacking softwares making my game crash.

As i mention since when i open my game hacker can make my game crash immediately again, i can't report them .

My support case was about issue that what these people using cheats can do to my device, was my device was compromised?

I am done really if i do not get a straight answer , i will just say thanks and go on like i said.

what happened to me in 2023 march proves that it isnt only before 2015? and
there is no single mentioning of fix/patch to RCE/RAT

like i said there are alternatives, there is no single discussion of security risks in those alternatives.

when i was playing rainbow six siege, old battlefields ,battlefields (new ones) , no single cheater was able to make my game crash.
nobody could make my game crash while i was playing csgo
it is completely safe to play Day of Defeat Source , Half Life Opposing Force multiplayer.

All the games i mention proves how low activision hit. lowest possible for an AAA company i guess.

My experience is completely different from yours; and looking at things objectively, MWII (the new one) poses no risk. It's the older CODS that have the security issue.

Anyway, the only thing you're right about is that time will tell. 6-months to one-year from now, if thousands. tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands of people were hacked and hackers got a hold of bank information/accounts, you'll be right. If not, you'll just be another generic fearmonger that believes anything he wants as long as it's convenient for him.

I do not believe anything . If my game was not crashed by a hacker , i wouldnt give a ♥♥♥♥ even if other people told me.

It is about experiencing yourself at first hand. It was like a terror attack for me because such thing never happened when i was young(i am 28 millenial) and playing cod4,waw,mw2,mw3,bo2

such thing didnt happen while playing other online shooters.
