Texture Streaming Option
I have this set to ON in settings.

Does this mean my game install size will get bigger?
And if so does the streamed texture download get saved to Steam Folder or does it get saved some other file location?

Alternatively ,does the streamed texture -just stream and not get saved anywhere?

Not just Hard Drive C ,but the exact spot -does anyone know.
Windows virtual memory, also called Sysfile/pagefile.....on you systemdisc C:

That doesnt worry me -I am playing private match with bots.
But thanks for tip.

I am more concerned about Hard Drive Space though ,since I juggle how many games I can fit on my SSD. Does this streaming get saved at all?

It says in submenu for streaming, that it allocate 24 GB space on your hardrive, meaning sysdisc C: - that means you need + 35 GB free space on sysdisc C: for all processes running on your computer

It's in the games folder shader caches. Or gpu control panel caches.
I don't use this because it causes you to download terrains while you're spinning around looking at them. That extra 32gb of cache can also piss right off. Bad game design. All textures should be in the game files. Not via downloading some shader cache. Similar to aoe2 HD, you either download the extra textures or you play it without. 4k on 4k off.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Thanks for telling me that.
That means it is only transient and does not really stay on my HD ,unless it makes the swap file bigger maybe ,mine is only 3 gig at present -6 months ago it was 22 gig when I was photo editing. It adjusts in size automatically.

Yeah.. And that's why you crash? Because automatically adjusted by windows is not as stable as you actually allowing a proper sized custom paging file starting at 12 gb and maxing 32gb for example.

I havent been crashing -not on this game anyway.
It runs like a dream.
turn streaming off, it actually ♥♥♥♥♥ with performance pretty hard.

So does it make fps go down ,or make the cpu or gpu run hotter ,or both?

You will not get an answer from that "GUY"... all he do is critizise me for trying to help.

If your computer is above recomended specs, you will have a better visul experiemce with streaming on at normal. But if you dont and run the game on low or very low, turn it off.
And for sure, with texture on normal or higher, streaming ON, you get preloading of shaders of better quality. That means more use of your system and could make them hotter.

Thanks to all.
I sorta run at low res ,medium settings I think.
I will leave the streaming on at present.
I like how it looks.

You can set a render distance max to let it flow extremely well in big maps rendering things you're not even remotely looking at. 100 or 200 is a good working value! 1000 is the default

I will check "render distance max " setting.

So the smaller value of 100 or 200 is still OK ,but the big 1000 value is just for better graphics cards?

1000 is for anything above rtx2060 id say let it be. Or even 500. 1000 is unnecessary because you never look that far, ever.
