What gets me sometimes is looking at the scoreboard. Everyone almost has the exact same scores.
That's why Ranked is a joke. There is no difference.
Your just going to have to get a lot better. But once you do, like me, you just get blamed for cheating.
Consoles need aim assist its just a fact of life, but its so over powered in this game. The reason to make every console player feel like their skilful, so they enjoy the game and buy more skins.
Trouble is with PC gamers we get left behind. This isn't an issue in any other cross play enabled game, e.g Apex legends or Battlefield 2042.
PC sales for the next iteration will be much lower or the folks who do buy have addiction issues.
After having played numerous FPS games, including CoD, on both keyboard and mouse and controller, I can tell you that while controller does have aim assist which makes shooting at close to semi-medium ranges easier, MnK has the distinct advantage of having way easier and smoother aiming than a thumbstick could ever provide. Without aim assist, an average controller player would have no chance against even the newest MnK player, it's just no contest. I should also mention that aim assist really isn't that strong, it's just good enough to make shooting with an analog stick possible, however it's that close range "sticking" that aim assist can sometimes give that annoys people; this effect is not only inconsistent, but also jars an inexperienced player because you effectively have two forces acting on your aim, not just one. While aim assist gives SMG players an advantage against you close up, your excellent precision with movement and aim, with time, will allow you to absolutely demolish controller players at anything beyond 20 meters with relative ease. Also, if you want to become the nastiest sniper/shotgun rat ever, use MnK.
There's tradeoffs with both inputs, and I'd say they're as balanced as it can get for such vastly different input methods. If you put in the work, and really improve your aim and tracking, you'll be a veritable god at range. Good luck.
How many hours of DMZ have you played?
Yeah because getting beamed from even long range, and hit in the head when just your forehead is visible by controller players roughly aiming in your direction never happens.
Everyone who fails to see, or tries to defend, the aim assist in this has either no idea what they're talking about or just wants to keep their crutch.
I used to play shooters primarily on console because i never had the money for a proper PC, and even after not having touched a controller for an shooter in 5 years i can still steamroll people effortlessly with an controller due to it aiming for me and making managing recoil, visual recoil and being able to properly see the target at all not necessary
All i sacrifice is faster inventory management and more precise grenades, whoopity do.
That's the point, the K&M player needs to see the enemy and follow his trajectory, the aim assist does it alone.
Iron sights are tricky for tracking enemies, but the controller laughs at us
