Stuttering and hitching in the game.
I started noticing this since the new update, but maybe this started happening earlier and just didn't notice. Alright, now let me describe the issue. Every once in a while in a match, the game "pauses" for less a second and the framerate sometimes drops from ~130-140 fps to 80 fps back to 130 when this happens. Also, sometimes the game just stutters while in a match. I've tried things like changing the RenderWorkerCount thing, updating my nvidia drivers, lowering my video memory scale, and most things on youtube. Help or at least knowing if this is a common issue would be nice. Thanks.

Yep, performance regression for season 2. I doubt it will ever improve considering how much stuttery jank is in this COD compared to even MW19 / warzone 1.

Going from warzone 1 to warzone 2 feels like they downgraded my cpu and gpu by about 5 years.

I don't get FPS drops but I do get massive stuttering on 80-100 fps on some maps, not all, but some. It's just terribly optimized and it's a gamble if those same maps will run smoothly or if they'll stutter without FPS drops

Trust me, you are getting fps drops but the way the basic FPS counters work is to just average what's going on so you never actually see how bad are the 1% and 0.1% lows without using a proper tool to record the frametimes.
Same deal for me im using the same CPU (5600x) and a RTX 4070 ti. before season 2 update i was getting 200fps average in benchmark and 144fps 1% lows, now the 1% lows have dropped to 115fps and the average is down by 10fps to 190fps. Now this doesn't sounds like much of a issue but it is because there is something else going on too.....it's tanking the frame rate in specific areas of the map to like 55fps for no reason. Like there is a spot on the train next to the fridge and theres a loot box beside it and if i look down there my frame rate is tanking to 50-55fps? LOL. That was NOT happening before the season 2 update. It's made the game play horrible in many situations.

You might/probably are right about that. I use msi afterburner but I don't see it go below 80-85 fps. For instance I get the stuttering on Embassy and Dome (sometimes). The other maps run smoothly for most of the time.
Honestly I'd go back to CoD MW19 in a heartbeat if it still had some sort of support. At least it was optimized pretty well

Same here, I used to get a smooth 120 in multiplayer and about 100 in warzone. I now drop down to 90 in multiplayer and 70 in Warzone constantly. It's almost unplayable with how much it stutters.

Thanks for the replies guys, it's really nice to know that it's not just me.

Now, for the people who came here searching for answers, I can't really help you out right now. You could try updating your graphics drivers, changing the RenderWorkerCount, and changing the game's settings, but those didn't work for me. If none of those work you, you'll just have to be patient and wait for a patch to come.

You're not alone bruh, we're all in this (suffering) together. I try to re-verify my files and that may, or may not help, but anything's worth a shot really. I just really hope they'll fix it soon..

As far as I can tell the hitching, at least on my side, only appears when enemies are on my screen, i.e. in fire fights. Running around the map is otherwise fine.
