Why do players do this?

Why do some squad up without any intention of wanting to be in a squad and go off on their own?
If you wanna solo, turn that squad fill option off and have at it.

Warzone is both BR and DMZ. Just like warzone 1 was BR and Plunder. WZ isn't just BR. Be kinda lame is one game mode had 2 names of it's own. Says Warzone right on both modes.

Warzone is the game whereas DMZ/BR are the modes within.

Never understood why people when they say they are playing WZ, they only mean BR like it's the only mode there is.

Both modes are team based with no real means to solo other than disabling squad fill.

when you look at your friends list it straight up tells you whether they are playing warzone or dmz. Those are the 2 different modes in the F2P version of MW2. Also I'm pretty sure theres a solos mode in warzone aswell as duos, trios and quads but in dmz if you go solo you will still be up against 3 man squads.

If you actually look at the modes in the main lobby, both are labelled warzone. There is no other modes within warzone at this time regardless of free or paid versions. DMZ is DMZ and BR is BR with usually 3 branches off it. I have the vault edition btw. It's the same thing. There is no true solos at the moment. Just quads, trios and maybe duos and the mini royale.
If you don't squad fill in dmz, you could face 6 man squads.

FTR, I don't play this on steam, I'm on battlenet. I am only here as these are the only "official" forums for the game.

Bud I actually think the reason people do it , ( It's why I do it) is so that they have the chance of getting a team mate that will stop at NOTHING to get to where you've went down on the map (collecting & whoopin a55 along thee way!!) so that they can revive you, (Again it's what I do when i do go in with a team) just because someone goes off doing there own thing for the first 15/20 minutes doesn't mean that they won't be at your back or running across the map to revive you ( ME ) ... Other reasons i go in with a team is I'm going in with No guns or really bad guns, going off to find revives for the team as i've came in with none of my own, at the same time looking for at least 2 stage armor for myself & the team along with at least medium backpacks. I will also go from one side of the map to the other to get back with my team once i have done my thing & got what i need to make sure i can survive & ex fil.. After all thats the most important point...
I hope loads of ppl see this as I need Warzone players to read this...

Interesting read this one is. Always interesting to see how these conversation meander from point to counterpoint. I happen to agree with the OP. When I read a discussion like this, it highlights the condition many people have nowadays - the mindset that what is best for me is all that matters. Now allowing for the clueless - those that have no idea what team or squad based games or about, so let's exclude them from the discussion - those that enter with the sole purpose of going about their business alone suffer from this "what's best for me is all that matters" view. They don't have the maturity to think "just maybe the others might be trying to do a mission that needs or would be a hell of a lot easier with three than two". Or they have no interest in going in and helping someone else, whatever the circumstance. And the worst is the individual who may have that mindset yet goes in as a random expecting the other two to revive them if they go down 1500m away. While there are probably a few out there that go in as a random with some sort of higher strategic intent (bait, etc) I think those if they exist are few and far between. Most just lack any semblance of self awareness or having a mindset of thinking of others, not just themselves. Yeah you payed your money and you can play anyway you like, but just because you can doesn't mean you should. So if you want to do you own thing - no problem. Just go in solo.

Maybe that's a steam thing as ingame, it only ever says "playing warzone in Al Mazrah".

No, I'm talking about ingame, in the social page. It also says "playing DMZ in building 21" if thats what they're doing.

Did you find the Warzone solos?

Nope, have only ever seen playing warzone in al mazrah on any player that's online. Even ones that were with me playing dmz when I got kicked. It still just said playing warzone in Al Mazrah.

And yes I did find it for BR.

well i dunno what to say, it displays correctly for me and my friends, no matter if theyre on steam, ps, xbox or battlenet. Might be bugging out for u.

Nature of the beast, unfortunately. It's why I stopped ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with DMZ. The AI is way too overwhelming as a solo guy.

Going in with a team then doing what i do, i get alot of thanks from more players than i can count for going 1500m across the map to revive them, giving them some nice game play across the map, but i will obviously be looting & collecting on my way to get you.,, also knowing that they've more than likely been looted for everything so i'll bring armor revive guns bag, if i can i'll bring what i can. Fact.
But i suppose I would also be in this clueless group?
