Microphone not working in game
I've been trying to set up my mic in game. Whenever I test my microphone in game, I can't hear anything and my teammates in the lobby can't hear me either.

In settings under Voice Chat, I have -
Voice Chat: On
Game Voice Channel: All Lobby
Last Words Voice Chat: On
Proximity Chat: On
Voice Chat Output Device: The same thing I use for normal game audio that works just fine.

Under Microphone -
Microphone Mode: Push To Talk
Microphone: The same microphone I use for everything else I do on my computer
Microphone Level: 100

Yet, when I turn on "Test Microphone" or try to use my push-to-talk key to talk to others, there's nothing from my mic. In fact when I push my push-to-talk key I don't even see the speaker next to my character change in the lobby like it should.

I use this same microphone daily for streaming and talking to people in Discord, so my hardware isn't the issue.

I'm out of ideas here. It's not the end of the world since I mostly play with my friends using Discord, but I'd like to be able to communicate with other teams in proximity chat in modes like DMZ.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

hey, I have same problem as you. All of my friends have a mic icon beside their names, which i don't. i tried every solution i found but still not working, i really need a way to fix this problem😢
by the way, i always use discord and play MW2 at the same time, could that be a possible reason?

by chance are you using a ps4 controller? I had the same issue, and it was because there is a speaker in the controller and my computer picked it up as my microphone. I had to go into my sound setting and turn off the ps4 controller as a mic. Everything has been working fine since then.
Make sure you have default device selected for microphone and headset.

Not sure but this problem just seemed to randomly resolve on its own one day without any further changes from me. /shrug
