Mic Not Working
I'm playing using steam I've updated my audio drivers, switched between settings in audio manager, switched devices in settings in game. When test the mic in MW2 settings it says my mic works but when I try to talk no one can hear me, it shows I have a mic connected but the lines that indicate talking don't appear anybody else run into this problem or have a fix?

The mic icon means nothing. It will display even if your mic is disconnected. Go to your windows audio settings and check that your mic in enabled as default system recording device. When you have it working, in game settings you can test your mic, you should hear your voice talking in the mic.

by the way, i always use discord and play MW2 at the same time, could that be a possible reason?

I had this exact same problem, and the fix was so stupid. So, in MW2 / WZ2 I had to go to Audio -> Microphone, and expand the menu beneath Microphone Mode. I play a lot of DMZ, so I was using "Open Mic" mode. And the "Open Mic Sensitivity" was at like 95%. I read that with the understanding that the mic sensitivity would trim off 5% of the audio, allowing the majority through. Turns out the logic is backwards, if I crank it all the way down to 0% it works! So, I guess 0% equals completely sensitive with no gating.

Hey I finally managed to fix the problem, the last thing I did was to remove Kaspersky Antivirus
