Can you get banned for using mods for other games?
Hi folks, I just reinstalled the witcher 3 with all the cool mods collection I had before (the ones that work with next gen at least) and uninstalled both mw2 and battle net launcher, just to be safe, because I read ban rants in the past due to other games mods, mergers etc, now idk if those people were actually cheating, or this new cod anticheat really that trash. Do you guys have mods for other games while playing mw2 and it's all good? Anyone can tell me from experience?

Oh this makes a lot of sense, yeah I'll do just that every time I launch mw2 then just to be safe, cause I really enjoy my modded witcher experience, but sometimes I wanna play some shooty shooty bang bang cod too 😄

There are millions of people playing cod on pc, I bet thousands of them have modding tools on their computers. How many false ban topics do you see? Maybe 10-20 per week here on steam, that's nothing considering the amount of people playing. And again, the topics usually come from people with 1-2 games, hidden profile or multiple ban reports already.

You'll get banned if you're cheating, if you were cheating or if you have any cheating/really sus software running. Otherwise you'll be fine.

People creating false ban topics here are either stupid or have multiple bans in their steam profile already.

You'll be fine.

Thing is I dont know what cod anticheat considers sus software running, I have only this folder with the script merger to merge mods that conflict, and the other 4 programs the merger needs to work, thats why im a bit skeptic, what if cod anticheat reads any of them as cheating software etc?

i'm an active flight simmer, i have like 10 flightsim apps open in my background and never had issues.
so doubt other games can impact it.

If the software is conflicting with cod files there may be a problem. I'm pretty sure you won't have any problems, but to be 100% secure just don't run them while playing.

I'm 330+ hours in, had Ghub and Afterburner running all the time and yet I'm still here and playing, while some random dudes with vac bans on their profile are claiming about these apps getting you banned. There are also multiple modding tools on my pc (witcher, minecraft, total war etc.).

If the programs are not interfering with mw2 you should be good. People keep saying stuff like razer synapse and msi afterburner and other programs get you banned. I almost didn't buy the game because of those reviews but I got the game and I am not banned. People who say that are either lying cheating losers or are posting false reviews.

I think the the witcher 3 script merger doesn't even run in the background, I just merge mods that conflict and close it, also don't need to have it open to play (should check in task manager to be sure though) man haha I'm anxious, but fk it I suppose I'll try 🤧😄

Any way to notice if they conflict?

Yoo indeed lotta people have mods for other games too, how I didn't think about that before, you're right, besides yeah all those hacking topics accounts look as shady as you described them, I thank you man, thanks to all that answered, y'all took some weight of my chest 🥰 already reinstalling cod!

yes.

whatever you do on your computer are called "Events" and those "Events" trigger a Function Call.

if you move your cursor by using the Mouse, it is recognised that the mouse movement is caused by your mouse driver.

if you move your cursor with a script/hack but did not obfuscate or hide it behind a driver (say "Hack.exe"), it is recognised that the mouse movement is caused by "Hack.exe" and not a legit mouse driver.

if MWII anticheat detects such thing (can be keyboard/graphics/display/overlay), even if it is not meant or hooked to MWII, it could potentially cause you a ban.

I mean the mods for the witcher 3 are mostly Visuals fx, and inventory stuff, like no weight limit, unlimited stamina etc I doubt they lach onto these "events" or anything, regardless I'll try and see because as said, I'm pretty sure other people that play cod have mods for other games too.

Don't install cheats, and you don't have much to worry about.

Source: been playing shooters on PC since at least 2007 (Steam, Battlenet, Epic, etc.) and have never been banned, shadow or otherwise. (I'm not very good either, so that probably helps, lol)

Yup, Synapse is always in the background running. Now, if I had used Synapse to run a macro or other similar type feature it can do then I may have gotten into trouble.
