S&D - Why can dead teammates talk to those who are alive?
I can't emphasize how much this changes the game mode for the worse.

Is this an oversight? It totally ruins the game mode. If you die, your teammates who are alive shouldn't be able to hear you talking. It used to be that way, and it was simple and always worked well. When you became the last one left, there was a real sense of danger and isolation having all communication cut off from your team. They could be screaming together on the other end and you can't hear any of it because they're dead and you're alive. Now S&D is just a bunch of ghosting and lacks any tension because everyone just wants to feed their teammates information after they already died. Even though you may take out over half the team, the people you just killed are still able to help their teammates by giving them information. That means your position, the direction you ran in etc... all of which they should NOT be able to tell their team because they're, well, DEAD. What penalty is there to dying if you can still communicate? It just seems so nonsensical if this is an intentional change.

There are so many small details that are absent in this game. This is one of those huge, "very important under the surface" details because it's integral to the pacing of the game mode. Without it, everyone just plays it like there isn't an objective at all.

This game seems to have had as little effort put into it as possible and simply rehashed as much from the previous game as they could, which for all the fanfare and hype its fairly rubbish

I like hearing my team cheer me on as I clutch every round.

Donno it's always been that way and has never made any sense.

It wasn't configured that way in COD4 and MW2 2009. You'd get to the end-round screen and be greeted with a wall of noise, whether that was your team hyping you up or talking trash - or the other team doing that. I don't know what they've done in the more recent titles, but it's a really simple aspect of a single-life mode and I have no idea how they could've overlooked it. It's essentially what creates the tension, because without it the line between "dead" and "alive" is significantly blurred.

Because people can communicate outside of the game using discord for instance.
There's no way to police it.

Oh wow, good thing I keep voice chat muted when I play. I mostly play S&D and Knockout too. Weird thing is, I'm usually the only one teamplaying.

It's all about that casual push... Same reason console aim-assist is the way it is.

Most pub matches are not going to have a group of people all playing together on Discord. That's a very unlikely scenario, at least unlikely enough that they shouldn't change things about the game mode in regards to it. People who queue S&D solo just don't exist? That's what I mean. If people are going to ghost over Discord, then MAKE them ghost over Discord. Don't make it EASIER for them to do in-game... like what? That doesn't make any sense at all.

It's not like it happens MOST games...it happens SOME games.
It's not making it easier, it would just be a decision of being default on and not wanting to bother trying to fix it if the option outside the game is available anyway.
You can also be sure that friends will use discord if they turned off death-mic for those who focus on this mode. Most people who have friends will anyhow since the in game voip is cancer with randoms.

I understand now... this was a change made to appease console players with the mandatory crossplay. PC players would be able to use Discord whereas those on consoles couldn't. Wow. Consoles ruining yet another thing, what a surprise
