High ping all of a sudden the last few days

Hey folks,

Just curious if this has happened to anybody else in the last week or so?

Australian player, had 0 issues with ping (usually hovers around 20-30) but the last week it's constantly around 80-100 and takes forever to find games.

My account is in good standing (I checked) so it's not that, I use an ethernet connection that has had no changes, I am a decent player (usually top 3 in every MP game I play) but I doubt I am good enough that it is putting me in higher skill tier lobbies. Maybe?I have no clue honestly.

Hoping it's a patch, hence checking if other players have run into similar issues.

Some basic questions:

Wifi or wired connection?
If Wifi, can you run a wired connection to see if that fixes it?
If wired but going through a router, does the connection improve if you run direct from the modem to your PC?
Are you able to test on any similar games to see if your ping has jumped there too, or is it just in CoD?
And finally, is it consistent every game, or does your ping randomly drop back to its normal levels?

Wifi can be a bit touchy sometimes, so that one's an obvious possibility. If you're doing wired, you're seeing a ping increase in other games, and running direct to your PC from the modem instead of the router doesn't fix the problem, there could be a problem on your provider's part. If the problem disappears when you eliminate your router from the equation, then something in that hardware may be having some issues.

If you can find the IP to use for Call of Duty's servers, you could also run the traceroute command to try and find where the problem with connection is between you and them, but I am not sure what that IP is (a quick google didn't find it for me). There could be something between you and them that is slowing down connection that could clear up at some point.

For each of the things above that gets eliminated, you can get closer to the actual answer. Unfortunately, beyond those, I'm not sure how much more help we can give you here, but hopefully something there is useful.

I am on wired Ethernet. every other game I play is 20-30 ping (literally just tested Valorant and 18 ping) - COD is simply stuck at high ping, it COULD be SBMM has whacked me in higher tier lobbies as the Aussie playerbase isn't massive.

Happens to me as well.
Sometimes the ping skyrockets to 150-170 from 30-40 with no change on my side.
I extract from DMZ and next game is 30-40 ping again.

I can play with others and play just fine.

Not that i would give them any reason to take such action against me either way.

just letting you know my experience, mate. I also didn't cheat - yet, am banned. I'm referring to the OP anyway, as his experience was the same as mine yesterday.

Do you use Razor or Logitech RGB software for your keyboard and mouse? I had some mates banned for using the Logitech software, wild.

You cant get banned for using Logitech or other Rgb Software thats bs. You get banned when a Software is trying to Change Files wich rgb not do. Otherwise alot of people would be banned and also I would be banned but I am not.

same thing with me, don't even get an opportunity to search for my regular ping (25-30) just starts searching for 100 ping and gets higher the longer I search, tried everything restarting internet and pc, resetting, even uninstalling and reinstalling the game, nothing helps at all, weird thing is its not everyone that's getting this issue, could it be our internet providers (curious cos my brother who plays on console gets the same ping issue) or just bummy cod.

Did you test this or are you just saying things you actually don't know??? Because when my logitech g hub is opened in task manager I get way over 100 ping and it keeps on searching without finding a lobby and when I close logitech app I can get in a game so its true what somebody told here in the comment section.
