"Pro tuned" weapons
Anybody else think these weapons are tuned beyond the parameters we are allowed to tune the weapons ourselves?

I mean they have to be. The Mortal's Bane M4 blueprint is insane. There is no way I can match the ads/sprint to fire/hip walking speed/ads walking speed/sprint speed on the M4 with my own tune with the exact same attachments. Not even close, actually. Mortal's Bane handles like a pistol kitted for speed only. Not even any of my pistol builds handle this fast.

And that's not the only one. The Vertex Drive blueprint for the 556 Icarus is the same way. "Pro Tuned" and no way in hell could I tune it to be this fast. The LMG with 75 rounds handles like a stock AR.

Have they talked about this at all? What actually is "Pro Tuned"?

I think you're right and the game kinda implies it. I don't own the game i just play WZ2 specifically DMZ. At the gunsmith when checking out a "Pro Tuned" weapon, for example one that came from battle pass, you can check out their attachments and stuff, if you decide to add or remove one there's a pop-up message letting you know that "all pro-tuned stats will be removed from the gun" if you proceed with your change.

I haven't tested it, there's a fire range that seems pretty handy for that, but barely have free time to enjoy myself on the DMZ.

Hopefully someone can make some tests with this to prove or dismiss it.

Well yeah, they're pro-tuned, not scrub-tuned

xclusive ace already made a video about this. the difference between tuned and pro-tuned is neglectable or even non-existent.

you can make icarus handle like a ar with tuning and right parts. this pro-tuning is just a gimmick to sell bundles and battle passes.

I haven't "tested" it scientifically so to speak but I've definitely tried to recreate them and it doesn't work.

It would make sense because of the removed tuning warning but isn't this a big no-no? It's effectively pay to win. Some of these weapons are better in every way than their player-tuned counterparts. That's p2w. You have to buy the battlepass for the Mortal's Bane blueprint. There's some free blueprints but they are not even close to these two. These are definitely meta M4 and 556 Icarus blueprints.

I guess anybody could get the Vertex Drive but that's a long grind.

Yeah, no. Don't see Mortal's Bane or Vertex Drive anywhere in the video.

Obviously not all pro tuned weapons are created equal.

So no, not debunked.

Please keep thinking that though. Don't use Mortal's Bane or Vertex Drive. They're definitely crappy and made just to sell battlepasses.

I've wondered this too, but I thought these pro tuned weapons were catered for novice players that haven't unlocked tuning and all of the attachments to get the weapon as close or better than the blueprint. Personally, I don't solo with pro tuned weapons. I use them as a blueprint and tune / mod from there. But.. I might check this out. You may be on to something. Weapons may be protuned but they do lack other important features like specialized ammunition, larger magazines, or you're stuck with a trash scope. So I guess if these pro tuned weapons are "p2w" they come with drawbacks is what im saying

Yeah there's definitely drawbacks, main one being you can't change or tune anything. Just camos and charms. I'm really picky about scopes and reticles so not being able to change them does suck. But that's the tradeoff. Want beyond normal tuning, then you're stuck with these attachments. If you want a little less recoil or a little more speed, too bad.

You don't need the battle pass to unlock the vertex drive. It's unlocked at rank 250. I tried to find videos showing the baseprint without player modifications or tuning. Seems alright. I was always able to get decent ADS and recoil control with the icarus though.

I can't comment on the price of a battle pass. I thought they were free. Mortal's bane is decent that's for sure, very fast ADS and recoil control is great. However, I feel like you can modify the weapon as long as you have the proper attachments - to get as close or better than the pro tuning as possible. In my opinion, pro tuning is for novice players who haven't unlocked tuning / the right attachments and need a better base weapon to level up with. I just played with various pro tuned weapons and am not seeing a noticeable advantage over other players with modified and self tuned weapons. It wouldn't surprise me though if this changes soon and weapons in the store have advantages over other weapons, such as the XMR range finder scope in the sloth VII package.

Yeah the Icarus is by far the fastest handling LMG... but Vertex Drive... handles like an AR and I can't tune the Icarus to match the Vertex Drive. It's that fast.

And Mortal's Bane... you said very fast ADS and decent recoil. Well that's the problem with tuning yourself. You can have very fast ADS or decent recoil control, but not both. I can tune the M4 to match the speed of Mortal's Bane... but then the recoil makes it absolutely worthless. Ok, so tune it to match the recoil, then the speed sucks. See what I'm saying? You can't tune it for both and get the same results as Mortal's Bane. It has tuning parameters beyond the sliders.

the pro tunes don't even have all attachments on them so ofc if you try to replicate it using a build with every attachment slot filled you're not going to match it.

they can 100% be remade with default guns and such, you just need to understand that you don't tune it 100% to either recoil or ads speed, there is a butter zone for specific weapons like that.

the reason you aren't replicating it is because you think it has to do with tuning it 100% to recoil or 100% to ads speed, you gotta start realizing it's a slider that can go between the two values for a reason.
Raansu Dec 2, 2022 @ 1:22pm
It shouldn't be all that surprising that blueprints having custom tunings. There's a reason you get a warning that if you remove a piece it removes all tuning. Personally I hate that because I liked to mix and match blueprints skins in MW1

To get the speed of Mortal's Bane you HAVE to max the speed sliders or it doesn't match the speed of the blueprint.

So your point is pointless. To match Mortal's Bane speed you have to go opposite of recoil. All the way. There is no best of both worlds. You're either not as fast or not as accurate if you tune it yourself.
